About the Role

We seek a dedicated and experienced Physical Damage Appraiser to join our growing claims team. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring that our customers’ vehicles are restored to their pre-loss condition. Your expertise in RV repair and insurance repair guidelines will enable you to effectively assess damage, collaborate with repair shops, and guide customers through the repair process.

Requirements

Your Responsibilities at Outdoorsy:

  • Damage Evaluation: Investigate, evaluate, and negotiate physical damage claims to determine fair and equitable settlements.
  • Repair Process Expertise: Apply in-depth knowledge of RV repair procedures and insurance repair guidelines to ensure high-quality outcomes for customers.
  • Customer Support: Communicate clearly and guide customers throughout the damage assessment and repair processes, ensuring a seamless experience.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of claims activities and decisions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with repair shops and vendors to facilitate timely and efficient vehicle repairs.
  • Process Improvement: Assist with claims-related tasks, such as managing total loss vehicles, processing salvage invoices, and coordinating salvage proceeds.
  • Compliance: Interpret policy contracts to determine coverage and ensure adherence to insurance regulations.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • 2-5 years of experience in the RV repair industry, with a strong understanding of RV repair processes and insurance guidelines.
  • Familiarity with various vehicle types, including regular auto, medium duty, motorhomes, travel trailers, and towables.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal teams and external partners.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications and damage appraisal software (Duncan, AdjustRite, Mitchell, CCC, etc.) 
  • Previous experience in a P2P or marketplace environment is a plus.
  • Ability to obtain appropriate insurance licenses, if requested.

Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 DOE
