UX Research

What We Do

Our team of UX researchers provide rigorous research support and insights for all of our games and products. Our goal is to be the voice of our players and users, and help the designer-intended experience for them be realized.

What You'll Do

Epic Games is accepting applications for a Playtest Researcher to work on the UXR Playtest Team. Playtest Researchers are expected to manage playtests for various products and build upon existing processes to generate insights from those tests that help further our design and make the game more fun.

In this role, you will

  • Manage internal playtest backends, including developing an understanding of various internal tools we leverage to ensure playtesting is a simple one click solution
  • Coordinate with production and dev teams and leverage past playtest data to schedule playtests and construct playtest agendas
  • Collect and share feedback from playtests with developers, including analyzing incoming data and sharing core findings from our tests
  • Ensure major issues are tracked and resolved
  • Improve the playtest process to make tasks more efficient, communication clearer, and participation easier
  • Maintain and upkeep the Playtest Lab
  • Function in a fast paced environment with constantly shifting priorities while maintaining the highest quality possible

What we're looking for

  • 2+ years of experience in QA, Production, or Playtest Coordination roles. Time in User Research, Design, Engineering, or IT is a plus
  • Core understanding of how playtests fit into the design pipeline and how playtests should be structured and run
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage large Zoom calls
  • Detail oriented background and capable of managing a variety of tasks simultaneously
  • Growth mindset focused on improving team wide tools and processes
  • Strong backlog of gaming history
