PlayOn is looking for a highly curious, result-driven Principal Product Manager, Growth & Subscriptions to lead strategic subscription pricing & packaging initiatives and drive data-driven growth for the NFHS network, the largest subscription streaming service for high school sports in the country. This role requires deep expertise in B2C subscription monetization and growth.
Reporting to our Senior Director of Product Management, you'll serve as the strategic leader for our pricing, packaging, and growth optimization efforts—translating sophisticated financial modeling and growth experimentation into experiences that drive sustainable revenue growth and customer lifetime value.
The Outcomes You’ll Deliver
-Measurable ARPU & LTV Growth — Deliver significant increases in Average Revenue per User and Customer Lifetime Value through strategic pricing & packaging optimization and conversion/retention experimentation.
-Pricing & Packaging Leadership — Own end-to-end pricing strategy and packaging architecture, partnering extensively with other product leaders and finance to build revenue models, conduct price elasticity analyses, and execute pricing changes.
-Increased Experimentation Velocity – Accelerate testing cadence by partnering with growth engineers and leveraging platforms like VWO to increase experiment throughput and speed-to-insights.
In This Role You Can Expect ToOwn end-to-end pricing and packaging strategy for the subscription business, including tier structure, feature bundling, promotional pricing, and pricing experiments.Partner deeply with finance to build revenue models, conduct price sensitivity analyses, forecast impact of pricing changes, and present recommendations to executive leadership with comprehensive financial modeling.Define and prioritize the growth roadmap across pricing optimization, conversion funnel improvements, onboarding enhancements, and retention initiatives.Use SQL and analytics platforms like Sigma to uncover opportunities and derive actionable insights independently and report on experiment results.Lead cross-functional initiatives spanning engineering, design, marketing, finance, and analytics—building consensus on complex tradeoffs and influencing without authority.Leverage AI tools like Claude Code to accelerate analysis, prototyping, documentation, and collaboration with engineering teams.Mentor product managers and elevate team capabilities in data-driven decision making, experimentation methodology, and strategic product thinking while establishing metrics frameworks that provide visibility into business performance.To Thrive In This Role, You HavePricing & Packaging Expertise — 5+ years of hands-on experience leading B2C subscription pricing and packaging initiatives, including designing pricing experiments, building financial models with finance teams, and executing pricing changes in production systemsDeep Data & Analytics Skills — Expert-level proficiency in SQL and statistical analysis; comfortable working independently with large datasets to identify opportunities, design experiments, and derive insights without always requiring analyst supportGrowth Experimentation Mastery — Proven track record of shipping high-impact experiments that delivered measurable wins; deep expertise in statistical rigor, experiment design, and translating test results into scalable product improvementsB2C Subscription Domain Knowledge — 7+ years in B2C subscription businesses with proven track record of driving ARPU, conversion rate, and retention improvements; understand subscription economics, cohort analysis, and churn dynamicsFinance Partnership Excellence — Demonstrated ability to collaborate with finance teams on revenue modeling, forecasting, and business case development; comfortable presenting financial analyses to executive stakeholdersAI Tool Proficiency — Active user of modern AI tools to enhance productivity in analysis, coding, and product development workflowsStrategic Leadership — Principal-level ability to define vision, build stakeholder alignment, influence without authority, and drive execution across multiple teams on complex, high-impact initiativesBusiness Acumen — Exceptional judgment in prioritizing initiatives based on potential business impact, effort required, and strategic alignment; comfortable making and defending tough tradeoff decisionsCompany Overview
