Job Description

Spotlight Sports Group is a global media and technology company specialising in content and data within sports betting, horse racing and fantasy sports. With over 400 employees, the group operates multiple award-winning brands, including Racing Post, the world’s largest horse racing affiliate, Pickswise, myracing and Free Super Tips. We partner with leading operators across the betting industry to produce and build multilingual, best-in-class digital products and content to engage and educate customers. ICS-digital, an international marketing agency including ICS-translate, also operates under the group.

Now we’re expanding our video and audio team to take that heritage into bold new spaces: high-impact short-form videos, blue-chip podcasts and lively racing and sports panel shows. If you love creating content that informs, entertains and connects fans across every platform, this is your chance to shape the next chapter of an iconic media brand.

This role will be working from our London office 3 days a week and 2 days working from home.

Head of Audience

Job Purpose/Summary:
We are expanding our digital and social video capacity to capture high-impact stories, interviews and features from the field, and distribute them across social and audio-stream platforms. You will take responsibility for the production and editing of both short-form and mid-form video (and audio) assets, working on-location and in-studio, ensuring content is formatted, optimised and published to reach maximum engagement. You will play a key role in turning editorial ideas into engaging visual and audio content and help push our brand’s voice across platforms.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Film and interview on-location: set up camera/lighting/audio, capture compelling visuals and sound on site.
  • Edit and produce short-form (e.g., social clips, Reels, Shorts) and mid-form video (e.g., features, interview segments) for distribution across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X and audio platforms (podcast/streaming).
  • Work closely with editorial teams to translate stories into visual/audio formats, ensuring alignment with brand tone, style and audience.
  • Optimise video and audio assets for each platform: hooks, captions, thumbnails, descriptions, aspect ratios, sound mix, subtitling.
  • Manage publishing workflows: versioning, formatting for multiple platforms, scheduling, asset archiving.
  • Use analytics (views, watch time, retention, shares, listens, audience growth) to inform edit style, format tweaks and platform strategy.
  • Assist in sourcing and clearing rights for user-generated content, archive footage and music; ensure compliance with copyright, media law and platform rules.
  • Work with marketing and social teams to maximise content reach and effectiveness across campaigns and branded initiatives.
  • Travel to events, venues and live locations as needed; be available for occasional weekend or evening shoots.
  • Maintain a library of assets (raw footage, edits, templates), ensure metadata and tagging are up to date for partner reuse or monetisation.
Continuously keep abreast of emerging social and audio trends, tools and techniques; propose fresh ideas and formats to grow reach and engagement.

Requirements

  • Proven experience (typically 4-6 years) in video production/editing, ideally within a digital, social or sports media environment.
  • Skilled in Adobe Premiere Pro; workable knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator preferred.
  • Experience filming on location (DSLR or mirrorless camera, lighting and audio setups) and editing self-shot material.
Strong grasp of social video best practices: vertical/horizontal formats, engagement hooks, platform pacing, thumbnails, captions/subtitles.
  • Good understanding of audio editing or repurposing video into audio-first formats for streaming/podcasts.
  • Excellent organisational skills, capacity to manage multiple projects and deliver under time-pressure.
  • Effective communicator, comfortable collaborating with editorial, social, marketing and commercial teams.
  • Flexibility to work unusual hours, travel and work in a fast-changing environment.
  • A passion for sport and/or horse racing is a plus, but above all creativity, strong visual storytelling and social-first mindset are essential.

How to Apply

Please submit your CV and a short covering note outlining your relevant experience and interest in this role. If available, include links or examples of any video, audio or digital content you have helped to produce, edit or manage. In your note, tell us briefly what excites you most about creating or organising digital content around horse racing and sport.

Benefits

We offer a range of well-being initiatives, including private medical insurance, excellent parental leave, a working globally policy, mental health support, assistance programs, and social gatherings. We also provide a pension scheme and various other benefit schemes. Plus, we all get our birthdays off work and enjoy 25 days of holiday per year, as well as the opportunity to buy 5 additional days per year and you can be flexible about when you use your public holidays.
