About the Team The Yahoo DNS Infrastructure team builds and runs the core Infrastructure and shared services required to support all Yahoo services globally. We design and build scalable, high-performance systems, automation to run those systems, and manage global name resolution and traffic routing.
We build systems that the rest of the company relies on, the automation to run them, the APIs and UIs that other teams integrate with, tools, and a slew of other systems to keep things running smoothly. We’re a collaborative group that works with other teams regularly: IT and office staff, datacenter techs, legal teams, security teams, and external-facing teams like mail, sports, and news, to name a few. As a full-stack team, we provide opportunities to work anywhere in the stack, from the OS, tools, APIs, and web front ends.
About the Role
We are looking for a devops/sysadmin/system engineer who loves puzzles and problem solving, is curious, is not afraid to ask questions, is helpful to others, enjoys
They will need to identify opportunities for automation and technology improvements and develop solutions in order to keep up with the changing needs of the company and the technology used. They will also be expected to deep dive into problems to solve them and research new technologies to evaluate or implement those solutions.

Qualifications
BS degree or equivalent industry experience. Typical candidates have a BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or 5 years of equivalent experience. Candidates must be comfortable coding and be willing to learn or code in a variety of languages. Perl, Python, golang, PHP, and C++. (We don’t expect someone to be an expert in all of them) Candidates must understand basic networking principles and can explain how and why packets flow the way they do Candidates must have a base understanding of process, memory, filesystem, networking, and common troubleshooting techniques on *nix and RHEL-like operating systems

The compensation for this position ranges from $143,625.00 - $299,375.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
