WORK OPTION: The NBA currently provides eligible employees the option of working remotely one day per week.   This is a temporary position with an expected duration not to exceed (10) months.  Position Summary The WNBA is looking for a detail-oriented and data-savvy Business & Fan Intelligence Analyst to join our Strategy & Business Intelligence team as a project employee. This role will play a critical part in supporting league and partner objectives by delivering high-impact fan intelligence outputs and custom analyses. The ideal candidate has 4–7 years of experience in business analysis, market research, or fan insights and is adept at transforming data into clear, compelling narratives for internal and external stakeholders.   Key Responsibilities Partner-Focused Intelligence Delivery Create customized fan insight deliverables for current WNBA partners to inform brand activations, sponsorship performance, and audience alignment. Collaborate directly with partnership and data implementation teams to understand client needs, tailor analyses accordingly, and present deliverables to clients in a clear and impactful manner. Data Analysis & Visualization Analyze fan behavior, demographics, media consumption, and engagement trends using the WNBA’s Fan Data Platform (FDP), inclusive of first-, second-, and third-party data sources. Build intuitive dashboards and visualizations to support storytelling (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Excel, HEX, dbt, or similar tools). Fan Segmentation & Profiling Collaborate with the Data Implementation team to utilize the WNBA FDP and market research in developing actionable fan segments and profiles for use in partner advertising, business growth strategy, and sponsorship campaign execution. Assist in enhancing fan lifecycle insights and behavior-based segmentation for WNBA partners with access to the WNBA FDP. Data Stewardship Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and best practices in reporting and analysis. Help maintain centralized fan data assets and contribute to improving data infrastructure where applicable.   Required Skills 3-5 years of professional experience in business analytics, market research, consumer insights, or a related discipline. Demonstrated ability to work with large data sets and translate complex data into clear, actionable insights. Strong proficiency in Excel and business intelligence or data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, HEX). Experience with survey design, syndicated research tools (e.g., YouGov, Nielsen, Vision Insights), or fan intelligence platforms (e.g., Zoomph, Relo Metrics, Conviva) is a plus. Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to deliver findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience working in or adjacent to the sports, media, or entertainment industry is highly preferred. Familiarity with SQL, Python, or other querying tools is a plus but not required. Analytical and curious — always digging deeper to uncover meaningful insights. Client-service mindset — responsive, adaptable, and solutions-oriented. Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
