Position Summary The SRPP will report to the BAL SRPP Lead, and work on the design, management, and execution of all areas of BAL social responsibility, and player programs. The successful candidate will design and implement robust community outreach and player development programs customized to meet the objectives and vision set out for BAL as well as the participating teams, host countries and the BAL players. The SRPP will support fan engagement efforts to engage with community groups to attend BAL games. The SRPP role will support these initiatives by proactively sharing ideas, developing concepts, engaging with stakeholders and partners, and leading in-person and online events. The SRPP will manage all communications and NBA administrative processes for successful delivery of programs and partnerships. Major Responsibilities: Manage SRPP operations and program implementation, associated with community player programming and development and community outreach and engagement initiatives.   Manage the implementation of impact measurement processes and work towards sharing impact reports yearly. Manage all administrative processes for BAL SRPP contracting process with partners Build relationships, ongoing communication with local and pan-African NGOs. Lead outreach, development and maintenance of partnerships and relationships with team staff, external education experts, creative partners, and industry experts. Create in-depth documents and reports for external stakeholders such as partners and potential partners. Lead on-site event management, registration, volunteers, venue and vendor management, ROS, etc. Provide strategic input to the establishment of pan-African programs for BAL teams to establish community and player development programs and partnerships in their markets. Build and deliver companion curriculum and program materials for use by team-based staff and NGOs. Develop innovative programming to support women’s basketball and gender equality within the sports industry in collaboration with other stakeholders globally or regionally. Develop employability programming that will drive youth’s skillset as potential sports ecosystem entrepreneurs or employees across the continent. Drive research methodologies to track and share key developments, trends, understand best practices in the social responsibility and player development areas with BAL teams to ensure BAL is offering best in class services and programs to the players and the communities it serves. Liaise with BAL staff daily for different collaborative initiatives. Collaborate with Content/Communications/Marketing team to create campaigns and other important storytelling initiatives and/or awareness raising relating to SRPP programs or other social issues the BAL or NBA Africa is invested in. Required Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge of the basketball landscape in Africa, prior experience playing in college or professionally is a plus Proactive mentality and passionate about growing the game of basketball on the African continent Strong project management and organizational skills Highly organized with the ability to establish priorities and meet strict deadlines Proven ability to work independently and efficiently while traveling Exceptional attention to detail skills, especially related to business writing Ability to exercise good judgement in situations that are time sensitive and public facing Public speaking and presentation experience Minimum of 2 years of experience in the areas of Player Development and/or Corporate Social Responsibility (Africa related non-profit or government organization experience a plus). Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, exercise flexibility as needed and communicate changes/updates to key stakeholders in timely manner Knowledgeable and experienced in event and/or program implementation Ability to think creatively and communicate clearly, professionally, and persuasively (both verbally and in written form) Skills in online project management software such as Trello, Monday, or others French highly preferred Experience Required: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the CSR space, NGO, non-profit also a plus Prior experience in developing, implementing, and/or improving programs from either a youth basketball, social responsibility, or player development perspective for either a sports team or league Experience in event management and partner management Experience in creating documents for external stakeholders   Educational Background Required: Bachelor’s Degree
