You will be a part of the team responsible for the ingestion, storage, processing and data science involving the NBA’s basketball statistics. Our team’s primary goals are to maintain the historical statistical records of the NBA and then use that data to build fan-facing products that engage and educate the NBA’s fans across the world. If you want to join a team of hardworking developers who love cloud architectures and data science as much as they love basketball stats, this is the job for you!   Major Responsibilities: Work as a part of a software development team to contribute to current product development projects involving data and basketball statistics ingestion, storage and analysis Develop test driven software features for enterprise level software products and infrastructures. Contribute to full stack cloud-based development projects that help to build the NBA's next generation of fan-facing products. Investigate and resolve consumer submitted software and data issues. QA new stats-based digital products and features as part of the NBA’s software release cycle. Perform data analysis tasks to support NBA content and broadcast teams. Perform data entry tasks to both correct official NBA data and create additional datasets for Machine Learning projects. Create and automate data reports for other NBA departments. Work with other stakeholders to finalize technical plans and specifications for development projects Contribute ideas for new products powered by our data so that we can better engage our fans   Required Skills/Knowledge: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Programming experience and/or coursework in Python, C#, .NET, Scala or Java Backend experience developing API systems and infrastructure Full-stack programming experience with cloud-native applications Experience with ingesting, storing and retrieving data from databases General understanding of DevOps best practices Experience with Bitbucket or ADO deployment pipelines Experience with Kafka, Kubernetes, Databricks, Apache Spark, Spark SQL, and/or PySpark is a plus Experience with Microsoft Azure is a plus Previous Apache Airflow experience is a plus Practical experience with data analysis techniques including modeling and clustering is a plus General understanding of DevOps best practices. Experience with Bitbucket or ADO deployment pipelines. Experience crafting data visualizations is a plus Basketball experience is a plus Display an aptitude for taking initiative to go above and beyond Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments Ready and willing to learn from other members of our team Detail oriented with a desire for seeing projects through to completion Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations   Education: Bachelor's degree in Math, Computer Science or related field   Salary Range: [[$3,200/Biweekly]]  The NBA does not accept unsolicited resumes from search firms or any other third parties.
