We are seeking a knowledgeable individual to support the technical operations and workflows within our multimedia infrastructure. This role will be part of our Systems Engineering & Support group. The individual will be utilizing a suite of tools to closely monitor our live streaming workflows and services. The person must also have experience in media systems, including video, audio, IP, non-linear record/playback devices to quickly diagnose issues encountered during live events and broadcasts.
Collaborate as a technical expert on live broadcasts and streaming issues, both independently and alongside our various partner's technical teams.
Utilize a variety of media operation and encoding tools to closely monitor and troubleshoot streaming workflows and services.
Quickly diagnose issues encountered during live streaming events.
Daily management of live encoding workflows.
Respond to and work with technical resources to isolate and resolve system issues.
Create procedural documentation.
Ability to work all shifts associated with 24x7x365 production environments.
Required Skills/Knowledge
Background in media industry.
Knowledge of media encoding server technologies and codecs.
Knowledge of encoding protocols (AAC, H.264, H.265) and streaming protocols (RTMP, SRT, HLS, DASH).
Knowledge of IP networking and multicasting, including streaming media protocols (RTP, RTSP, UDP).
Experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn.
Experience in reporting metrics and performance to identify areas of opportunity.
2+ years of broadcast media or IT experience.
2+ years of IP-based video streaming development experience (or equivalent).
2+ years of experience with supporting live broadcasts and live productions.
College degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Significant field experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.
Salary Range: $3,200 bi-weekly
