Recruiter, Baseball

Position Summary:

Octagon is seeking an experienced professional with knowledge and contacts in Baseball.  The primary responsibility of this position will be to recruit new clients, with a focus on the recruitment of professional baseball players. This is a remote position; the location is flexible.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Identify and attract new clients
• Represent Octagon and Octagon Baseball at events and in meetings
• Establish and maintain contacts within the baseball industry
• Collaborate and interact well with other Octagon Baseball personnel
• Travel as needed in the performance of job responsibilities
• Other related duties as reasonably assigned

Required Qualifications:

• College degree and a minimum of five years’ experience in the field of baseball
• Existing contacts within the baseball community
• Prior experience recruiting athletes
• Knowledge of the baseball systems within the US
• Multilingual, including fluency in Spanish
• Strong sales and marketing skills
• Strong negotiation skills
• Strong computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Word for Windows, Microsoft Excel, and internet proficiency preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to use good business judgement and to make quick decisions in situations where discretion is required
• Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, as required
• Ability to travel as needed
