Job Overview

Wargaming is looking to hire a passionate Researcher with industry experience in quantitative methods to join our team. The position is to be in Berlin, the German office of Wargaming.

As a Researcher, you will work directly with stakeholders and other research team members to help make effective business decisions, speaking up for the player and having the opportunity to directly influence the development of our products. You will be part of a team that carries out a broad range of research topics, developing innovative methods of survey design and data analysis.

In this role, you will collect players’ and consumer feedback using various quantitative tools, including surveys and in-game data sets, conducting data and statistical analysis, and synthesizing into actionable findings and reports.

What you will do:

  • Plan, design, and execute research studies using various quantitative research methods and question types.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to turn requests into clear business goals, and research objectives.
  • Own the research process of individual projects across their lifespan (e.g. research scope and planning, project management, fieldwork, analysis, reporting, and presentation).
  • Deliver impactful and actionable research output through effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Evangelize the role and benefits of user research across the company.
  • Leverage domain and product knowledge to create new research methodologies for collecting players' feedback.
  • Apply quantitative and statistical analysis, as well as develop new statistical and modelling approaches to leverage further insights from data sets.
  • Play video games, including Wargaming titles, and be knowledgeable on the industry news and developments.

What are we looking for?

  • 2+ years of experience conducting full-cycle quantitative research (as an in-house researcher in a commercial company, or in an external research agency).
  • Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics or related field.
  • Understanding the applicability of various research methods (quantitative and qualitative) for different business needs.
  • End-to-end experience with all aspects of the quantitative research life cycle (project management, study design, sampling, scripting, analysis, reporting).
  • Knowledge of statistical data analysis methods.
  • Experience with survey design tools (e.g. Survey Monkey, Alchemer, Qualtrics).
  • Experience with data analysis tools (SPSS, R, Python).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, DataTile).
  • Fluency in both English and Russian language.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Curiosity and creativity; enjoying complex issues and problem-solving.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to quickly build rapport, and establish credibility.
  • Enthusiasm about video games.
