The Fraud and Betting Investigations Player Analyst is the “first line of defence” responsible for performing deep dive analysis into problematic cases of betting fraud within the sportsbook. Your main objective is to help identify optimal wagering limits for patrons based on their behaviour. It is your responsibility to track and provide thorough reports detailing patrons not acting in good faith. Examples of this include linking accounts via betting activity and utilizing geolocation to pinpoint users in the same location sharing identities and accounts as well as at live sporting venues “fast-feeding” or placing wagers ahead of data feeds. This role requires identifying and communicating this data to both the Risk & Trade and Fraud departments and recommending further actions to be taken.

Typical Workday at theScore

• Review player’s betting limits and make adjustments as necessary.
• Review markets where we have received a large number of wagers in a short period of time and prepare for review by senior analysts with accompanying notes and findings
• Evaluate player activity and identify suspicious activity.
• Serves as the first line of escalation for discovery of multiple accounting between VIP’s and Sharp Bettors, Bonus Abuse, and Syndicates.
• Analyze complex or escalated cases of Geocomply anomalies and fraud alerts involving multiple patrons linked geographically.
• Monitor, prepare, review, and present detailed reports to demonstrate instances of multiple accounting, bonus abuse and syndicates.
• Develop and maintain a database of previous player reports and findings to be accessed by the entire R&T department.
• Other duties as required.

Requirements 

• Post-secondary degree in a relevant field, such as mathematics, business or other fields with analytical discipline, would be an advantage.
• Data obsessed, not just data driven with the ability to gather and interpret data.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment independently.
• Exceptional communication skills, able to communicate findings to all areas of the business.
• Strong sports and sports betting experience/knowledge is highly desired.
• Must be willing to work evening shifts (2pm- 10pm) and every weekend.
