Get to know the role

  • Job Title: Royalty Accountant (12-months FTC)
  • Job Summary: Ensures accurate processing of licensee royalty statements, contract compliance, and financial reporting. Manages invoicing, account reconciliation, and communication with licensees, while collaborating cross-functionally to resolve issues and support audits, reporting, and month-end close activities. This is a 12-month Fixed-Term Contract, with a potential conversion to a permanent position.

What you’ll do

  • Process and review licensee royalty statements for contract compliance.
  • Invoice royalties and record transactions in WestEnd Workspace and Oracle Fusion, our ERP system.
  • Contact and follow-up with licensees regarding missing royalty statements and compliance issues.
  • Resolve licensee reporting issues by working closely with business licensee managers, the Legal department, and the product approvals teams.
  • Manage communication with licensees through the Royalties Inbox.
  • Work in collaboration with the Accounts Receivable team on collection of outstanding payments.
  • Track statements to be processed and update with status of outstanding issues.
  • Review of licensing contract details to ensure accuracy.
  • Reconcile licensee accounts.
  • Prepare licensing and royalty data for reporting out to internal business partners.
  • Other duties as assigned, including assist with month-end close, assist in preparation of participation reporting to parent company and other parties, assist with licensee audit program, assist with development of standards, processes, and procedures.    

What you’ll bring

  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant professional experience or a demonstrated equivalent level of expertise.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or a demonstrated equivalent level of applicable experience.
  • Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
  • Preferred: experience with contracts, licensing and royalties, participations, foreign currency gain/loss, ERP and royalty management systems.
  • Variance analysis and budget and planning experience is also a plus.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy required.
  • Ability to retain and recall details of contracts and statements, while also handling many exceptions.
  • Ability to work in an environment where processes and procedures are changing.
  • Ability to follow through on resolution of issues over multiple months of time.
  • Focus on continuous improvement and increasing efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills with confidence communicating via email with people where English may not be their primary language.
  • Ability to maintain a professional but assertive relationship while pursuing licensees and internal associates in order to resolve issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Base Salary Range: For this role, new hires generally start between £52,000.00 - £61,750.00 per year. The full range is £52,000.00 - £78,000.00 per year. This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. The final base salary is directly related to the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience uniquely.
