About the role

Komoot is the most vibrant outdoor community in the world. As  Senior Android Developer, you’ll be an essential part of our newly established Android Developer Productivity Team. You will empower them by delivering tailored solutions that address their specific needs and enhance their productivity and efficiency.

Ready for your next adventure?

What you will do

  • Be a pioneer as the first member of our productivity team, paving the path for excellence.
  • Enable our Android Developers working on app features in cross functional teams to perform on their highest levels of efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Productivity Developers across iOS, Backend, Web and QA teams to align on shared objectives and exchange meaningful insights.
  • Ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with best practices in managing build tools and release processes.
  • Setup measuring mechanisms for our app's critical metrics, like memory consumption and rendering performance and ensure your team is informed in time about alerts automatically.
  • Own and optimize our CI/CD pipelines, Gradle, and other tools to streamline our build and release process.

Why you will love it

  • Your work will contribute to helping millions of people enjoy outdoor experiences.
  • We’ve been a remote-working company since 2017, meaning: We are remote by default, have frameworks and systems in place, and know how to do it well.
  • You’ll become an essential part of our diverse and international team with colleagues based in 15+ countries across Europe.
  • 38 paid days off (inclusive public holidays) – you are free to take those days whenever it suits you, including a well-deserved winter holiday break.
  • We love seeing people grow. That's why each team member gets €2,000 and 3 additional days to spend on professional development each year. Classes, conferences, books – your choice!
  • Costs covered for your co-working space membership or your work-from-home office setup and the latest devices and equipment to do your best work.

Requirements

You’ll be successful in this role if you

  • Are highly self-driven, responsible, and keen to learn and improve.
  • Thrive by enabling other developers to work on their highest level of performance.
  • Have 4+ years of professional experience as an Android developer.
  • Possess a solid foundation in software development, with proficiency in not only Kotlin, but also solid understanding of Gradle and at least one scripting language.
  • Are professional in understanding app monitoring, build and release automation, CI/CD systems and know the best tools for it.
  • Prioritize stakeholder needs in decision-making processes and proactively drive projects forward to improve efficiency.
  • Keep your Android development knowledge up to date.
  • Excel as a team player and communicator in a diverse and international remote team.

Not sure if you meet all requirements above? Don't sweat it – if you think you're the right person anyway, we'd love to hear from you!
