Senior Associate, Bus Systems:

The Senior Associate, Bus Systems is a key supporting member of the LA28 Bus Operations team, contributing to the planning, coordination, and delivery of bus services for Olympic and Paralympic Games stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of service delivery plans aligned with competition schedules and venue operations.
  • Coordinate inputs related to route planning, stop locations, and depot pairings in collaboration with internal teams and GTPI.
  • Assist in maintaining planning assumptions, service data, and operational documentation.
  • Contribute to ensuring alignment and integration with other transport modes and stakeholder services.

 Operational Readiness

  • Support readiness activities, including simulations, test events, and venue walkthroughs.
  • Assist in validating bus and crew requirements through data tracking, scenario inputs, and coordination with planning teams.
  • Help identify risks, gaps, and dependencies across workstreams, escalating as appropriate.
  • Maintain readiness trackers, action logs, and supporting materials for reviews and planning milestones.

 Games-Time Execution

  • Support delivery of a designated stakeholder-specific bus operation during Games-time.
  • Assist in monitoring service performance metrics and tracking issues.
  • Coordinate with GTPI, venue teams, and internal stakeholders to support issue resolution and operational adjustments.
  • Help ensure accurate and timely updates to operational systems and reporting tools.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Support coordination with internal stakeholders, Venue Transport, and Transport Stakeholder Services to confirm service requirements.
  • Contribute to ongoing communication to ensure alignment between planning assumptions and operational delivery.
  • Participate in routine working sessions with internal teams and external partners.

 Technology and Reporting

  • Support the implementation and use of operational systems, including GPS tracking, scheduling tools, and performance dashboards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of operating plans, system inputs, and reporting outputs.
  • Assist in the development of dashboards, reports, and planning materials to support decision-making.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems and reporting outputs.

Background & Requirements:

  • 3years of experience in transportation, logistics, operations, or a related field
  • Experience supporting service planning, scheduling, or operational delivery in bus, fleet, or transport environments is beneficial.
  • Experience working in cross-functional or matrixed environments.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in relation to data, documentation, and system inputs.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across teams.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Ability to work across office settings and on-site operational environments, including depots, venues, and transport hubs.
  • Willingness to work flexible and extended hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays during peak periods.
  • Ability to travel between multiple locations to support operational readiness and live service delivery.
  • Capacity to alternate between desk-based systems monitoring and active on-site coordination in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Comfortable working in dynamic conditions, including outdoor settings, varying weather, elevated noise levels, and large crowds, while using standard operational technology like laptops, radios, and mobile devices.

Expectations:

  • Comfortable working within a matrix environment, supporting multiple functional areas and partners.
  • Able to manage defined tasks and support workstreams with guidance, while taking ownership of assigned deliverables
  • Detail-oriented and delivery-focused, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and organization.
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented, able to identify issues and escalate appropriately.
  • Adaptable and responsive to evolving priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • This role will evolve in line with the developing needs of the Bus Operations program, and the successful candidate will be expected to adapt accordingly.
