About Us:
KinaTrax’s mission is to provide professional and collegiate teams with game-changing insights about their most valuable asset: their athletes. We deliver research-grade markerless motion capture technology that allows teams to collect in-game biomechanical performance data on their athletes. KinaTrax camera systems are currently deployed in over 50 stadiums & labs across MLB, MiLB, & NCAA organizations – and expanding rapidly. Our comprehensive data capture & analysis tools are operationalized for daily use by players, GM’s, coaches, trainers, medical staff, and beyond. As the market leader in Major League Baseball, KinaTrax has established itself as a foundational part of the teams’ day-to-day strategy and decision-making machine. We are constantly innovating and looking to recruit talented teammates to help us continue to revolutionize this space. Your contributions will focus on bringing the next generation of athlete performance data, across a variety of sports, to teams worldwide.
Job Description: The Senior Biomechanics & Data Science Engineer will work alongside the larger KinaTrax product development team with a focus on biomechanics algorithm development and research across multiple sports-related markets. You will work closely with the Head of Biomechanics to identify novel methods for biomechanics use, aimed at providing actionable insights to our clients, for purposes of player development, player health monitoring, scouting, etc. You will be responsible for leading research and development initiatives aimed at establishing future ROI for current and prospective customers. You may also be asked to lead studies aimed at validating future computer vision and machine learning models for purposes of data reliability and consistency. At times, you may also be expected to meet with current and prospective clients for troubleshooting and inquiries related to KinaTrax supplied biomechanics datasets. As part of your role, you will collaborate with other members of the product development team on specific projects, where at times you may be expected to be a project lead, and delegate tasks to other members of the development team.
Key Responsibilities:
Continued development of biomechanics algorithms used for KinaTrax Dugout and other future data visualization products, based on industry trends and client feedback.
Lead research and development projects related to novel biomechanical data concepts, improving overall data accuracy/reliability, and helping to establish further use cases and ROI of KinaTrax products.
Establish biomechanical KPIs using large datasets to help drive automated actionable insights within new versions of our biomechanics products.
Assist with strategic planning initiatives related to the entry of biomechanics data solutions for new sports initiatives.
Collaborate with members of the development team to ensure data visualization and API data egress methods provide actionable insights for current and future clientele.
Manage client requests regarding biomechanics algorithms.
Perform proper quality assurance testing when implementing development changes to production.
Assist with the integration of third-party hardware and data solutions to provide contextualization of biomechanics results as needed.
