We are now looking for a Senior Biomedical Engineer to join our Science team. In this role you will be part of a rapid R&D development including end-to-end-solution focused physiological information, real-life experiments, proof-of-concept algorithms, scheduling, concepting and planning future roadmaps. 

The main goal of your work is to turn real-world biosignals into usable metrics of human wellbeing and performance. In this role you will get to cooperate with a diverse group of machine learning experts, human physiology professionals, electronics specialists, experienced cloud engineers, mobile software wizards and firmware programmers.

Oura supports in-office, partial and fully remote work. This role is for someone that must be based in Finland. Our offices are located in Oulu Teknologiakylä and in Helsinki city center.

What You will do:

  • Work in the leading edge of technology-driven wellbeing and develop features in both short-term and long-term research projects
  • Develop and algorithms  
  • Conduct experiments of biosignal measurements and handle large amounts of data to find the diamonds in the haystack
  • Develop and deploy biosignal processing methods and, algorithms based on deep and machine learning, and contribute to productization for science-based features
  • Ensure that our data science products are generalizable and corner cases meets Oura standards of credibility and accuracy
  • Communicate with cross-functional teams and overseas stakeholders

We would love to have You on our team, if You have:

  • 5+ years of experience from end-to-end product development
  • Solid programming skills in Python
  • Knowledge of human physiology and its measurement, eagerness to measure yourself also
  • Signal processing, signal fusion, filtering and time series analysis skills, especially from ppg based solutions
  • Machine learning and deep experience involving human data
  • Have an advanced degree (Masters) in a STEM-related field (e.g. engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics) or equivalent work experience
  • Problem solving ability, out-of-the-box thinking, capability to prioritize and schedule challenging entities
  • Able to think from the end-user's perspective and understand practical considerations of putting models into production use
  • Are comfortable working with a diverse, distributed and talented group of team members

A basic understanding of optics and electronics design is also highly appreciated in this role.
