OVERVIEW

Alo is seeking a Senior Cinematographer to join our expansive in-house Video Department. This full-time, in-office role is ideal for a highly skilled cinematographer with solid balance of technical mastery, refined creative, and strong leadership capabilities. You will play a major role in executing Alo’s elevated visual standards across campaigns, brand films, social content, and e-commerce video. Working closely with our Video and Creative teams, you’ll help bring the creative direction to life with precision, consistency and most importantly, intention! In addition to your on-set responsibilities, you’ll also guide a small team of junior cinematographers, oversee our in-house equipment, support creative pre-production planning by creating shot lists & prepping eq, as well as collaborating with post-production teams to ensure seamless execution from prep to final delivery with a very high emphasis on color grade direction.

RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Pre-Production: Source Cinema Inspo, Shotlist Collab w/ Director, Help source crew, EQ Prep & Rentals, Guide and develop Junior Cinematographers
  • Production: Lead Camera & Lighting teams on set, Shoot Epic Content
  • Post-Production: Work very closely w/ Colorist, Give feedback on Edits
  • Lead the camera and lighting execution on set, ensuring all visuals follow the direction established by creative leadership.
  • Provide guidance for in-house & freelance camera department, supervise and mentor junior cinematographers and ACs — Leading by example!
  • Manage and maintain Alo’s in-house camera, lighting, and grip inventory, including organization, testing, upgrades, repairs, vendor coordination, and rentals.
  • Assist the Director & Creative teams in pre-production planning, including: interpreting briefs, collaborating on shot lists, preparing gear packages, gathering references, conducting tests, and ensuring technical readiness.
  • Operate camera when needed and deliver consistent, high-quality execution for premium-level productions.
  • Contribute to post-production by leaving detailed notes for editors, flagging selects, communicating technical considerations, and working very in-depth with our colorist to ensure the intended look is achieved.
  • Maintain top-tier knowledge of Cinema Cameras and oversee camera/lighting setup, configuration, and on-set workflow.
  • Ensure footage adheres to Alo’s exposure, color, and quality standards, working with post teams to uphold consistency.
  • Problem-solve with a calm, solutions-first mindset to keep productions running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate across departments with clarity, professionalism, and a helpful attitude, both on set and in-office.
  • Stay ahead of new gear, trends, and technologies to elevate Alo’s internal production capabilities.
  • Contribute to ongoing departmental development and help shape best practices and workflow standards.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for equipment transportation.
  • Must have a passport and be open to frequent travel (domestic & international).
  • A strong cinematography portfolio showcasing high-end commercial, fashion, beauty, or lifestyle work.
  • 6–10+ years of professional experience in cinematography (short-form and digital content preferred)
  • Expert-level knowledge of RED & ARRI cameras (required), along with Sony, Canon and other cinema systems.
  • Deep understanding of lighting design, color science, lenses, filtration, and on-set technical workflow.
  • Experience supervising camera teams and mentoring junior shooters.
  • Comfortable with physical mobility and capable of lifting 50 lbs regularly.
  • Willing to work outside standard business hours and weekends when production requires, including international travel.
  • Proficient with Mac OS; experience with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Media Encoder is a strong plus.
  • Organized, reliable, detail-oriented, and excellent at communication.
  • Ability to wear multiple hats and be a team player.
  • Professional, collaborative, calm under pressure, and dedicated to excellence.
  • Interest in fashion and wellness is ideal.

The base salary range for this position is $110,000-$120,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company’s total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
