You'll be leading the technical development of our cutting-edge anxiety programs, created in collaboration with world-renowned psychology experts. Your new role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Engineer around Barcelona (flexible to remote work from other cities in Spain) who will be leading the technical development of our cutting-edge anxiety programs, created in collaboration with world-renowned psychology experts. These programs are already helping thousands of people improve their mental well-being, and you'll play a key role in scaling them to reach even more individuals in need.

In this role, you will be leading the team from a technology perspective (no direct reports) and play a key role in defining, developing, and maintaining web applications as well as their corresponding backends with a focus to add resiliency and new features to the projects. Our tech stack includes NodeJS, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Mongo DB, DynamoDB, GraphQL, AWS, EKS, Serverless, Flutter, Angular and React; and we are committed to building scalable and robust solutions that push the boundaries of technology.

You will:

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and high-performance web applications having a proven track record of examples using our technology stack: NodeJS (experience with NestJS and Express are big pluses), TypeScript, Angular, React, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, AWS and EKS.
  • Drive the implementation of critical and complex components within the system.
  • Lead and mentor a team of developers, providing technical guidance and ensuring the adherence to best engineering practices.
  • Actively participate in coding tasks, demonstrating expertise in software development.
  • Take a lead role in architecting solutions that are both innovative and scalable, considering long-term maintainability and performance.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain code quality, consistency, and ensure compliance with coding standards.
  • Identify and prioritise areas of technical debt, and work collaboratively with the team to address and mitigate such issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, technical leads, designers, and other engineers, to ensure seamless delivery of high-quality software solutions and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our development processes.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes with the adoption of new tools, frameworks, and methodologies.
  • Managing escalations from the support team for complex end user issues.
  • Assist the customer team in cases of strategic or demanding customers.
  • Ensure availability of a software solution that patients depend on as a mental health support by reacting to alerts.

You will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing systems in web apps (mobile apps is a great plus).
  • Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer with expertise in NodeJS (NestJS and Express are big pluses), Angular, Javascript/TypeScript, MongoDB, (PostgreSQL and DynamoDB are great pluses), AWS, (EKS, Serverless are big pluses).
  • Expertise with AWS services and how to use them. 
  • Experience with Infrastructure as code, automation, CI/CD is a plus.
  • Experience with integration and end to end tests is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience in managing technical debt and implementing solutions for long-term code maintainability.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to architect scalable and maintainable solutions.
