WHOOP is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to join our Platform Organization. As the manager of the Connectivity team you will manage a large scrum team of engineers working to develop the vision and career growth of your team. You will work closely with Product Managers to develop your team’s roadmap. The Connectivity team’s mission is to enable a 24/7 connection and interaction between our mobile apps and the WHOOP strap. The team collaborates closely with Firmware and Software teams to provide easy communication to and from the hardware.
The broader Platform Organization builds products for all engineering teams across WHOOP including Software, Product, and Embedded departments through infrastructure, tooling, and operational best practices. We focus on the challenge of building SDKs, increasing scalability, and reliability of our product for both our members and developers alike. The Connectivity team is part of this Platform org, which also includes the Application Infrastructure, Build & Deploy, and Security teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Work collaboratively with multiple teams in a high-growth environment.Develop a roadmap and technical vision with Product and Engineering.Coordinate team estimation and timelines for project deliverables.Become a relied upon expert in the Connectivity domain. Set goals for and guide teams toward success on those goals around scalability, security, and quality.Participate in project design reviews guiding teams towards success.Grow and manage engineering careers.Communicate and drive long term strategy within the Software department. QUALIFICATIONS:You are passionate about coaching other engineers and helping them develop their careers.You are data driven and goal oriented.You are passionate about infrastructure and building products that accelerate other software teams or reduce friction.You are experienced in managing mixed engineering teams including backend and mobile.Great collaborator and partner to other teams.
This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.
