THE JOB / Senior Event Executive, Issuer and Merchant Marketing (Payment Services Client)

EXPERIENCES / Responsible for planning and executing event and experiential marketing programs.

*This position will be based in our Stamford,CT office with a priority given to candidates open to hybrid work (3 days week in office).*

Octagon is looking for a Senior Event Executive to focus on the development and execution of programming for payment services issuing bank and merchant clients. Activities can include, but are not limited to experiential activation, digital experiences, and creative ideation. This position involves working cross functionally with client business units to develop compelling sponsorship programs to drive marketing objectives.

This position requires excellent communication and time management skills, acute attention to detail, organization, and client management. The ideal candidate solves problems independently, thrives in a team environment and enjoys implementing programs that like within a mix of different sponsorship verticals.

THE WORK YOU’LL DO

  • Key member of the Issuer and Merchant Marketing Team (shared role across 2 similar teams)
  • Helps develop concepts and marketing platforms that use sponsorship resources with specific bank and merchant partners for either in-person or digital programs
  • Work with internal work-stream managers to collaborate on sponsorship activation and implement ideas
  • Have a passion for sports, entertainment and culinary verticals
  • Assist in the planning, development and execution of various marketing programs, simultaneously, ensuring timelines and client expectations are met
  • Help manage budgets and finances related to programs
  • Prepare formal documentation for projects including program overviews, recap summaries, agency POV, budgets, and sell in presentations
  • Other related duties as reasonably assigned

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3+ years of sponsorship/brand marketing experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of sponsorship management
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional client service
  • Superior organizational skills, careful attention to details and the ability to multi-task
  • Strong ability to work as part of a team and under pressure
  • Collaborative in nature with a “no job is too small” demeanor to assist with overall account team duties and additional programs as needed
  • Experience in presentation development
  • Experience managing and maintaining a budget or budgets
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously. Outstanding time management skills.
  • Demonstrate initiative and solve problems independently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (in particular PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Payment services industry experience/knowledge a plus
  • Ability and flexibility to travel domestically with weekend work as needed
  • All applicants will need to provide proof of COVID vaccination or contact the organization’s HR team if eligible for an exemption.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and work weekends or holidays as needed. Anticipated travel amount: Moderate (20-45%)

This position pays $50,000, is overtime-eligible and comes with a comprehensive benefits package.
