Senior Game Developer (Unannounced Project) at Wargaming

Job Overview

You will be working on a new, unannounced multiplayer, cross-platform flagship game with a team of highly experienced engineers. You will focus on the session-to-session game cycle (game meta), which encompasses a significant part of the project and includes features such as login, account progression, commerce, quests, statistics, socialization, matchmaking, and many other aspects.

What will you do?

Develop scalable, reliable, fault-tolerant, and high-performance microservices that support robust multiplayer experiences.
Implement client-server architecture to ensure efficient and stable communication between game clients and backend services.
Actively participate in all aspects of game development, from technical design and coding to setting up and deploying game infrastructure.
Collaborate with team members located in different countries, including developers, designers, and testers, to ensure seamless integration of all game components.
Optimize and maintain the codebase and libraries, focusing on reusability, performance, scalability, and reliability.

What are we looking for?

Extensive experience in web backend development.
Extensive experience working with relational databases.
Strong proficiency in Python development.
Strong knowledge of basic data structures and algorithms.
Experience in C++ development.
Experience in developing asynchronous and multithreaded applications.
Ambitions to grow, learn new skills, and push the boundaries of what’s possible in game development.

What additional skills will help you stand out?

Passion for video games.
Experience in working with Kafka, RabbitMQ.
Experience in working with NoSQL databases.
Experience in working with Kubernetes, Helm, AWS.
Experience in working with Nginx, HAProxy, Envoy.
Experience with Rust development.

The salary range for this role in Vilnius is EUR 4500-6000 monthly gross.
