Zynga is looking for an experienced and creative Senior gameplay engineer, in the Carlsbad, Austin or Eugene areas, to help build a thrilling new game franchise!

The role offers an opportunity to work on crucial gameplay systems and engine-level functionality, with a focus on solving complex problems in a creative and efficient manner. The perfect fit for this role will have an impressive background in Unity, be highly skilled in C#, and boast at least four years of experience in the gaming industry

Role:

• Feature and Gameplay Client-side Engineer
• Individual Contributor, working under a Technical Lead

Main Responsibilities:

• Help to architect and develop features & gameplay functionality in Unity with C#
• Optimize and debug gameplay and content across the game as needed.
• Dive into the internals of engine-level systems to extend them as-needed
• Develop and integrate new technologies & SDKs
• Help to develop tools for content creators
• Help to define and scope out tasks & systems

Desired Skills and Experience

• B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent education / work experience
• 4+ Years industry experience as a Software Developer
• Strong working knowledge in C#
• 2+ Years Unity experience
• Shipped at least one title as a Gameplay Engineer
• Self motivated with excellent problem solving and debugging skills
• Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms and software methodologies
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working in a collaborative environment

Bonus Skills and Experience:

• Mobile development experience with a focus on iOS and/or Android
• Multiplayer game development experience
• Experience with Photon Quantum
• Prior experience in live ops situations
• Experience with GIT
• 3rd party SDK experience

The pay range for this position in  California at the start of employment is expected to be between $98,000 and $145,000 per year. 

However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.   Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.  Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
