As part of our partnership agreement to deliver growth in ticketing and premium experiences (Hospitality) for the R&A, we will be building a dedicated sales team to focus on supercharging growth for The Open and the AIG Women's Open.

This is a full time role fully embedded in the R&A Premium Experience team and will be a key part in delivering success across multiple editions of The Open from 2026 and fueling a new growth phase for the R&A.

Purpose of the role

To drive sales of premium hospitality experiences and exceed associated targets and KPIs across The R&A’s professional championships. In doing so, delivering world class sales and customer experience in order to help grow revenue and profit for reinvestment into the sport.

To engage with key stakeholders including customers, prospects, business groups and sport groups to help support the growth expectations of the business.

The Senior Sales Executive will be responsible for driving revenue in the corporate market and, as part of a team responsible for the implementation of the sales strategies designed to surpass targets for The Open 2026 and beyond.

 

  • Driving revenue and, as part of a team contributing with the implementation of the sales strategies.
  • Creative thinking, hardworking, high energy and an intelligent approach to selling premium products at some of the most sought-after events in the sporting calendar.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and over achieve on sales targets with a core focus on The Open 2026 and shortly after 2027, whilst maintaining a focus on continued growth for the AIG Women’s Open year on year with a focus on the B2B market.

 

Activities will include:

 

  • Understanding the Premium Experience products completely and being able to position them accurately and positively in the marketplace
  • Generate new business through initial telephone sales calls, diligent use of LinkedIn, email and other relevant research platforms
  • Instigating and conducting face to face meetings and telephone sales with clients via research
  • Fielding inbound enquiries and converting to sales through accurate positioning and practicing the consultative sales process
  • Attending networking events, in person and online to ensure our events are at the heart of the Premium sporting conversation in the search for clients
  • Continually testing and reviewing personal sales activity and methods
  • Develop effective contract strategies to improve conversion for sales to corporate clients.
  • Understanding of the corporate landscape and feeding back best practices, cascading that information down to sales executives and sharing with the sales manager.
  • Maximizing sales from large key accounts, identifying opportunities from global corporations to help yield significant revenues
