LA28 is the independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The 2028 Games mark the return of the Summer Games to the U.S. for the first time in 32 years and Los Angeles’ third time hosting an Olympic Games and first time welcoming the Paralympic Games. This presents the unique and exciting opportunity to celebrate our legacy with the Games and push the Olympic and Paralympic Movements forward, writing a new chapter of Games history in Los Angeles.

Sr Manager, CAD Development:

The Logistics department is responsible for effectively and efficiently providing materials management and logistics support to all LA28 functions. The Sr. Manager, CAD Development will be responsible for ultimately assisting the Logistics Functional Area leading the creation, coordination, and management of non-sport specific CAD drawings and technical documentation supporting Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E) placement, venue planning, and overlay design for the upcoming LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games and related events.  Reporting to the Head of Material Planning, the ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a high level of customer service excellence.   

Key Responsibilities

Personnel Supervision 

  • Supervise a team of Managers, CAD developers 
  • Assist with oversight of the Logistics sub-function 

 

CAD Development 

  • Lead the development and management of CAD drawings for non-sport specific venue space layouts, FF&E placement, and overlay designs  
  • Coordinate with internal teams to translate requirements into technical drawings 
  • Establish and maintain CAD standards, templates, and best practices across the project 
  • Createreview and approve drawings to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with project requirements  
  • Support cost planning and procurement by providing detailed layouts and quantities 
  • Oversee version control and document management for all CAD files 
  • Ensure alignment with timelines and milestones, delivering high-quality outputs under tight deadlines 
  • Troubleshoot design and coordination issues across disciplines 

Background & Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in CAD development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role 
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant design software (e.g., Revit, Rhino, BIM tools) 
  • Previous experience in a major event is strongly preferred Olympic & Paralympic GamesAsian Games, Commonwealth Games, European Games or FIFA FWC will receive strong consideration 
  • Proven track record in managing complex projects, multi-tasking, and prioritization of tasks and deliverables 
  • Leadership skills in managing a diverse team 
  • Excellent analytical skills: ability to make decisions both independently and within a team environment 
  • Strong IT skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) 
  • A team player with a strong customer service focus with and a desire to go the extra mile 
  • Demonstrate ability in upward / downward communication  
  • Competence to present and clearly communicate to audiences in a multitude of public / private settings, as required 
  • Willing to work on complex, tight, immovable timelines while maintaining a positive attitude, exhibiting patience, persistence and strong problem-solving skills. 
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural, multi-national environment 
  • High attention to detail

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Design, or related field. Managerial certification

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Expectation to work in LA28 offices in Los Angeles 
  • Primarily office-based with extended periods of sitting, working on a computer, and attending virtual or in-person meetings 
  • Occasional travel to various venues, warehouses, or vendor meetings may be required 

The annual base salary for this position is $125,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
