Corporate Development and M&A is a critical function at Nielsen, and a key function for shaping enterprise-wide forward-looking strategy. Our team acts as a key advisor to the Leadership Team and our private financial Sponsor owners by framing key choices, providing a well-reasoned point of view, and ensuring choices are made and effectively translated into action.

We are looking for a driven and curious strategic mind to join our Corporate Development team to deliver on our Enterprise goals.The Senior Manager Corporate Development and Strategy will be both a strategic and analytical thinker to support and serve as a thought partner to leaders across the business, in pursuit of inorganic growth opportunities.

The ideal person will have strategic thinking and depth of business acumen, as well as a highly developed set of analytical, influencing, and project management skills.

This position will gain exposure across the company and will join a driven, creative, and enthusiastic team focused on positioning Nielsen for its next wave of growth.

The qualified candidate possesses the following:
  • At least 5-8 years progressive professional experience at a Investment Bank, leading Media, Technology, Advertising company or consulting firm.
  • Ability to analyze businesses spanning Media, Technology, Advertising categories and assess for strategic fit within Nielsen.
  • Possess a sales and customer service mindset and an ability to combine outside-in thinking with commercial practicality to build & test business cases for inorganic growth opportunities. 
  • Ability to manage an acquisition or divestiture process from start to finish and provide diligence and pre/post transaction support – integration and separation management.
  • Ability to write compelling selling memorandums and presentations.
  • Proven Quantitative / Analytical skills and passion for leveraging large sets of disparate data to answer critical questions for inorganic growth.
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo by encouraging openness to new ideas and aggressively changing existing strategies, current structures, systems and processes to better utilize resources and take advantage of opportunities. 
  • Fluency with Google Suite and Microsoft office tools – Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Comfortable facilitating and leading work to answer questions that span marketing, sales, operations, and finance.
  • Strong understanding of financial metrics, P&L fundamentals, and deal structures. Experience in commercial and transactional due diligence is a plus.
  • Strong desire for personal and professional development.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior M&A transaction and capital raising experience – carveout experience a plus.

    A reasonable estimate of salary range for a new employee to be offered this role would be between $66,000 - $225,000, which would be adjusted based on each employee's geographic location. The position of each employee within a compensation range at Nielsen is dependent on several individual circumstances, such as experience, training, certifications, and other business requirements/needs.
