Niantic is positioned as a leader in augmented reality and mobile gaming and is looking for a complex contributor joining as an Senior User Acquisition Manager based in our Tokyo office. This cross functional role is crucial in helping craft Niantic's overall growth, marketing strategies, and product launches.

Responsibilities

  • Craft and implement comprehensive user acquisition strategies across all channels, encompassing paid media, social media, influencer marketing, and emerging avenues.
  • Oversee and optimize large marketing budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and increasing return on investment (ROI).
  • Lead a team of User Acquisition Managers, providing guidance, mentorship, and encouraging a collaborative environment to achieve shared goals.
  • Develop and implement robust reporting frameworks, collaborating with the data science team to extract actionable insights and adapt to evolving marketing trends.
  • Partner with cross-functional leadership across product, marketing, analytics, and executive teams to align user acquisition efforts with overall business objectives.
  • Present persuasive recommendations and campaign results to leadership, effectively communicating complex data and strategic vision.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members and stakeholders, including regular and reliable attendance and participation in meetings.
  • Required in-office 3 days on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (in Tokyo).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, statistics, business administration, or a related field, with an MBA preferred.
  • Bi-lingual English and Japanese speakers are a requirement.
  • 8+ years of experience in user acquisition leadership roles, with a proven track record of scaling user growth for mobile applications.
  • Experience managing multiple creative and user acquisition agencies across multiple mobile applications.
  • Experience handling budgets excess of $500,000 per month.
  • Experience directly leading performance marketing channels such as Tik Tok, Facebook and or programmatic channels such as Moloco, Unity and Liftoff.
  • Knowledgeable about mobile attribution especially working directly with MMPs such as Adjust, Appsflyer and or Singular.
  • Outstanding leadership qualities, encouraging an impactful and results-oriented team environment.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams with ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal communications, including synchronous interactions with others.
  • Deep understanding of the mobile advertising landscape, including upcoming privacy regulations and their impact on user acquisition strategies.
  • Adept at utilizing and interpreting complex data analytics, translating insights into actionable strategies.
  • Experience developing and implementing creative campaign concepts, including A/B testing and performance marketing optimization.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment and handle stress appropriately and/or ability to solve practical problems and be sufficiently adaptable to handle dynamic situations with little advance notice.
