Job Description

OVERVIEW:

Are you our next Senior Payroll Executive? We’re looking for someone to join our payroll team on a 6 month fixed term basis, to help oversee the end-to-end payroll processes for all our employees. The roles primary focus will be on ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with statutory regulations, and subsequent submissions and payments as well as coordinating with employees to answer queries and improve understanding around pay.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • The completion of Monthly UK payroll processing approx. of 800 salaried and hourly rate employees from end to end.
  • Oversee global payrolls with support from Global Payroll Manager.
  • Review and validate payroll inputs, including salaries, benefits, allowances, and deductions.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure accurate employee data management and seamless payroll integration.
  • Liaise with Employment Tax Manager and HR team to anlayse new and existing benefits to ensure accurate and compliant tax reporting at all times.
  • Stay updated with UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations, communicating to relevant stakeholders where required
  • Handle payroll-related enquiries from employees, addressing concerns and providing accurate information.
  • Oversee the administration of employee pension schemes, including enrolment, contributions, and liaison with pension providers.
  • Support with the coaching and development of Payroll Exec.
  • Act as deputy in absence of Global Payroll Manager.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Essential Criteria:

  • Advanced Sage 50 Knowledge 
  • Advanced Excel knowledge
  • Experience of processing inhouse payroll end to end, In-depth knowledge of UK payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience of processing both hourly and salaried employees
  • Strong understanding of statutory deductions, including income tax, National Insurance contributions, and pension contributions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle complex payroll calculations and reconciliations.
  • Understanding of Automatic Enrolment and pensions legislation
  • Key attention to detail, ability to work under minimal supervision and use own initiative
  • Outstanding communication skills

WHAT YOU COULD ALSO HAVE:

  • CIPP qualified or working towards a payroll qualification at this level.
  • International Payroll experience

This is a hybrid role and would require the successful candidate to attend at least 3 days a week in GSHQ, Solihull, UK.

This position is subject to satisfactory results from necessary pre-employment checks, including a basic DBS check. This will be conducted at offer stage and covers unspent convictions only. In all cases we’ll always speak to you first and no offers will be automatically withdrawn.
