WHOOP is hiring a Senior Researcher at WHOOP Labs Doha to conduct studies that support WHOOP’s product innovation efforts. In partnership with WHOOP Labs Boston, WHOOP Labs Doha will collect exercise, physiology, and wear data to support development of new WHOOP devices and algorithms. To serve the company’s diverse testing and validation needs, WHOOP Labs completes tens of thousands of data collections a year and creates best in class experience for our participants. WHOOP Labs Doha will set the bar for product innovation research in the GCC, providing a best-in-class participant experience and contributing to advancing WHOOP technology.
We’re looking for a collaborative Senior Researcher with experience running exercise-based protocols and creating safe, energetic, and thoughtful research environments. You’re excited to engage directly with participants, work independently, and are comfortable advocating for research localization needs unique to Doha. This position is in-person in Doha, Qatar and will include some evening hours.
This role is based in the Doha, Qatar. We will only consider candidates who currently live in Doha, Qatar.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Localize and execute complex research initiatives as part of multi-site data collection efforts for machine learning, sensor validation, and other product development programs.
Collaborate closely with the WHOOP Labs Boston team to ensure methodological consistency in protocol execution across sites.
Support localization of protocols for execution in Doha including any required changes to activities, session structure, or sample in collaboration with cross-site partners.
Own research initiatives to support region-specific questions and remote global studies as a research expert.
Develop and maintain clear project plans, workflows, and deliverables, adapting to evolving priorities and constraints.
Coordinate and own research timelines and dependencies using project management tools to ensure visibility and on-time delivery.
Collaborate closely with other members of the WHOOP Labs Doha team such as Recruitment, Lab Management, and other Researchers to ensure successful end-to-end study delivery.
Deliver best-in-class customer service to WHOOP Labs Doha visitors.
Conduct elective Calibration sessions for WHOOP Members visiting the WHOOP Qatar and WHOOP Labs Doha facility.
Provide a best in class experience to all participants and visitors, representing the WHOOP brand as a product expert.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree or professional experience in a relevant field such as physiology, biotech, exercise science, or a related discipline.
3-5 years of experience conducting research in exercise/performance, health, or similar environments.
Strong customer service / participant engagement skills and human-centered mindset.
Strong project and program management skills, with comfort using tools such as Jira or similar planning frameworks.
Ability to manage multiple projects at a time and operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
Excitement to work in a high-energy, fast-paced startup environment.
Open to working a flexible schedule, including evenings at least 2 days per week.
Fluency in verbal and written English, WHOOP’s working language.
Comfort communicating with Doha locals in English and Arabic.
