What We Need:

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer passionate about server-side development! This is a role with a broad remit, where your expertise with distributed systems and compute scale will go hand in hand with your passion for efficient databases and deep love of crafting high-performance server-side applications. As our server engineer, you will have a meaningful impact on our games' ability to bring high quality experiences to our players.

 

What You Will Do:

• Develop, maintain and expand server side gameplay features for WWE 2K
• Write clean, robust, readable, well-documented, and efficient code that can be easily understood
• Pro-actively plan and complete assignments supporting a diverse and extensive codebase
• Demonstrate the assignment and technology flexibility required to assist adjacent teams in an Agile team environment, and contribute as a leader to the processes

 

Who Will Be A Great Fit:

• Extensive experience writing server backend code
• Expertise in Python, PHP, or Perl, with an emphasis on Python
• Skilled in SQL with MySQL
• Proficient in C++ and understanding of object-oriented programming
• Understanding of distributed and scalable systems
• Experience with multithreaded programming
• Background in content management pipelines and managing large data sets
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with online gaming architecture a plus
• Experience with videogame console development is advantageous
• Love for video games (not just ours!

 

This is a fully remote role that may be based anywhere in the United States. Below are the expected salary and wage ranges for applicants based in locations where the pay transparency law is in effect: California: $122,400 and $157,300 per year. New York State (inclusive of New York City): $118,050 and $157,400 per year. Washington: $99,150 and $132,250 per year. Base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
