As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Almedia, you'll work closely with multiple engineering teams to maintain and enhance the operational workflows of our critical applications and services, operating in a 24x7x365 environment. Your work will play a key role in ensuring the uptime, resilience, and scalability of our systems as we grow. This is an opportunity to drive reliability improvements and to collaborate in an environment that values proactive problem-solving, effective incident response, and smart alerting.
What You’ll Do 🎯
Collaborate with engineering teams to streamline operational workflows and support critical applications around the clock.
Develop application observability frameworks to maintain uptime and reliability of our infrastructure.
Design and implement efficient alerting systems and incident response practices, contributing to a robust reliability culture.
Improve incident response practices, guiding the team with blameless postmortems and sharing on-call responsibilities.
Monitor and troubleshoot distributed systems to resolve issues at the network, system, and service levels.
Deploy safer software delivery methods, using strategies like blue-green and canary deployments.
Optimize system performance, reduce operational costs, and enhance user experience for millions of customers.
Work directly with the CTO to align on long-term reliability goals and develop a clear, strategic roadmap.
What You’ll Bring 💡
Proven experience in Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or DevOps (development-focused), with an emphasis on high-traffic backend systems.
Strong coding skills in one or more programming languages, ideally with knowledge in TypeScript (NestJS on the backend, Next.js/React.js on the frontend).
Proficiency in monitoring and reporting frameworks (e.g., Datadog) to drive application observability.
In-depth understanding of Linux-based systems, with strong troubleshooting skills across applications, networking (TCP/IP), and databases.
Practical experience with CI/CD (e.g., GitLab pipelines) and database management, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
Hands-on knowledge of incident response, system design, and the trade-offs between different deployment strategies (canary, blue-green, etc.).
