As a Senior Backend Software Engineer joining the WHOOP e-commerce platform team, you will develop the core infrastructure responsible for both order fulfillment and subscription management. You will work closely with our systems team to ensure our integrations are scalable, maintainable, and adaptive to the global market. This role requires a strong knowledge of backend architecture and API design.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Help execute WHOOP's vision to build/scale an ecommerce platform that allows WHOOP to offer memberships and accessories to our membersContribute to backend development: Java, AWS and PostgresInterface with e-commerce platforms: CommerceTools and StripeWork collaboratively in a business growth environment with a product and technical visionConsistently deliver features and code with an iterative approachCoach and up-level engineers in your team and neighboring teams through direct and indirect mentorshipQUALIFICATIONS:Experience working on large scale software systemsExperience in API design and development (Java preferred)Experience in relational database design and development (SQL)Strong skills translating design specifications into fully functional applicationsPositive attitude and ownership mentalityStrong communication skills to work both collaboratively and independentlyExperience building in the e-commerce domain
This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.
