Your impact. 

We are looking for an ambitious senior software engineer with a deep desire to learn and develop software that improves people’s lives.  If you’re passionate about developing the best software and collaborating with other developers to do so, then we want to hear from you! This role is for our platform engineering team responsible for developing the shared services used by all our engineering teams.

You will support our core services, scale highly distributed systems, and continuously improve our engineering practices. You will work on the services that support our feature development teams and enable them to deliver high value. You will get to work on the latest software practices and technologies such as microservices architecture, cloud design patterns, automated CI/CD pipelines, automated and orchestrated Kubernetes Delivery, and AWS platform. 

• Collaborate with engineering and product team members to improve quality and velocity
• Design and implement new features into the HealthJoy core platform
• Enhance our developer experience by building tools to increase satisfaction and velocity
• Collaborate on architectural decisions and design best practices
• Create scalable solutions to serve our growing user base

Your experience.

• 5+ years of experience building and shipping scalable applications in Python
• A good understanding of software design principles and industry practices (for example: loose coupling, programming to interfaces). Taking into consideration test-driven approaches and observability.
• Experience with asynchronous programming in a web framework
• Experience with relational databases (we use PostgreSQL)
• Experience working in an event-driven architecture (we use RabbitMQ)
• Experience working in a cloud native environment (we use AWS)
• Familiarity with containerization technologies and deployments (we use Docker, EKS, and Helm)A drive to enhance our developer experience and tooling
• Experience with and knowledge of best practices for implementation of AI-assisted tools for process optimization and improved development workflow will be a plus
• Familiarity with AI Lean methodologies, including the application of AI to identify and reduce waste in software development processes will be a plus
• An ability and eagerness to constantly learn and share knowledge with others
• Insatiable curiosity to learn new software principles, technologies, and tools
• Passionate about collaborating with developers and testers; distributed team experience will be a plus
• Previous experience working on shared services and communicating changes across the organization is a plus
