As a Senior Software Engineer on the Payments & Fraud team, you will guide the innovation of payments and fraud solutions and products in the metaverse. You will integrate Roblox experiences with several different payment provider flows, supporting millions of real-money transactions, adding up to billions of dollars in bookings per year.

You will:

Report to the Engineering Manager.
Design and implement new, cutting-edge features across various purchasing flows that cover different environments and device types globally.
Design and build the industry leading products and solutions used by hundreds of millions of users.
Develop backend services that scale to billions of products and transactions.
Organize and take ownership of projects throughout their full lifecycle.
Collaborate with numerous teams to build the world's best application.

You have:

5+ years of experience in software development
5+ years of experience building and shipping products to production in backend domain
4+ years of experience working on large distributed systems
Knowledgeable with REST, GRPC, API design patterns, and scalable containerized systems and microservices
Passion about working on large-scale, consumer-facing mobile and web applications
Previous payments systems development (bonus but not required)
Curiosity to learn new technologies and systematically grow your skills.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Annual Salary Range

$189,110—$233,840 USD

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
