We’re looking for a Senior Technical Accounting & Reporting Accountant to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Manager of Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting, you’ll play a key role in supporting the integrity of our financial statements, assisting with technical accounting research, and helping ensure we meet U.S. GAAP and reporting standards as we scale.
You’ll make an impact on growing out the technical accounting & reporting function, assist with key audit deliverables, and work cross-functionally to help implement accounting policies and process improvements. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to a high-growth company.
We follow a flexible hybrid model that generally translates to around half your time on-site in our San Francisco, CA office, three days per week.
Independently research, analyze, and document complex U.S. GAAP matters, drafting clear, well-supported technical accounting memos.
Own the preparation and quality of the Company’s financial statements and footnote disclosures, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
Evaluate accounting implications of new products, contracts, and strategic initiatives, providing practical and well-reasoned recommendations that are in line with accounting standards.
Serve as a primary contact for external auditors across designated reporting and technical workstreams, proactively managing timelines and deliverables.
Proactively identify reporting risks, disclosure gaps, and areas of judgment, escalating with a recommended solution.
Drive process improvements that enhance reporting quality, efficiency, and internal controls.
Act as a trusted cross-functional partner to Legal, FP&A, Product, Engineering, and other teams — clearly articulating accounting implications, framing trade-offs, and driving timely decisions.
What You'll Bring to the Team:
Prefer accountability over step-by-step direction.
Are comfortable making reasoned decisions in ambiguous situations.
Naturally think about downstream financial statements and business impact.
Communicate complex accounting matters clearly and concisely.
Hold yourself to a high bar for quality and professionalism.
Enjoy operating in a fast-paced and scaling environment.
We’re excited about you because:
You have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA required.
You have 4-6+ years of experience, including Big 4 public accounting.
You have independently drafted technical accounting position papers.
You are comfortable working in a lean team where expectations are high.
Experience supporting IPO readiness or public company reporting is a plus.
Experience owning quarterly or annual financial statements and footnotes, including preparation and management within Workiva
