Los Angeles

Angel City is building a world-class organization to support its ambitions to redefine sports and entertainment. Our vision is to create engaging and unique content across multiple platforms to bring the purpose-driven mission of this Club to the world.

We are stronger together, have more impact together, and have more fun together!

Angel City Football Club has teamed up with BIRDIES, a female-founded, direct-to-consumer footwear brand committed to serving as a champion for all women, to launch the Angel City Football Club and BIRDIES SOAR Internship Program for high school students across Los Angeles. Together, we are allocating 10% of the value of BIRDIES’ sponsorship to put into action our deeply-held belief that women can go everywhere with the right support system.

In its fourth year, the SOAR Internship Program will expose 8 young women to careers in sports, business, and entrepreneurship by introducing them to the leaders of female-founded organizations like: ACFC and BIRDIES. By exposing the youth to such career opportunities, the team hopes to expose participants to careers they may want to pursue.  These salaried positions will give high school interns first-hand access to key leaders, everyday movers, employees, and projects at both organizations and funds to keep progressing academically.

The 6-week program will follow a curriculum that will consist of weekly educational sessions, education workshops, and career panels that focus on leadership, teamwork, sports, entrepreneurship, presentation skill building, public speaking, and more. Interns will also alternate on days dedicated to career panels and job shadowing. Through these activities, interns will interact with BIRDIES and ACFC Staff. The program will conclude with a final project presentation made to ACFC and BIRDIES Leadership.

Upon successful completion of the internship, a scholarship will be awarded to each intern.
