POSITION SUMMARY
Work as a member of the Performance Nutrition team to further enhance our sports nutrition program. They will also work closely with the strength staff and athletic medicine on all aspects of the athletes’ nutrition and recovery. This position will be integral to the continued development of the performance nutrition program and the individual’s responsibilities may grow depending on skill sets, efficiency and demonstrated initiative.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
This position works directly with and takes daily direction from the Performance Nutrition Coordinator.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist the Performance Nutrition Coordinator in all areas of the athletes’ nutrition and health
• Assist in hydration and body composition testing
• Assist in nutrition Return to Play initiatives
• Develop and design relevant nutrition education material and signage
• Assist and develop nutrition/supplementation protocols based on legality, safety, quality, and efficacy
• Prepare and provide players with pre-training and post-training nutrition and hydration
• Assist with hydration and fueling during practice
• Assist the culinary team in menu development
• Oversee and maintain daily operations and inventory of the fuel station
• Prepare for team travel and pack nutrition needs for the hotel and gameday
• Adhere to proper food handling and storage guidelines
• Provide personalized meal and snack plans to athletes using evidence-based counseling
• Stay up to date with current nutrition research, trends, and best practices, and incorporate new knowledge into the team’s nutrition program

QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be a recent graduate who has completed, within the previous eighteen months, a bachelor’s or graduate degree in sports nutrition, health science, or dietetics related field through an accredited program, or an individual that has been discharged from the military within the last 18 months. Master’s degree preferred.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) credential is required
• Obtain Pennsylvania state licensure within 30 days upon hire
• 1 year experience in sport nutrition, specifically football, at a professional or collegiate level
• Experience in food service
• Must be able to work a non-standard work week, which may include early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs
