PrizePicks is seeking a Sr. Community Manager to spearhead our community building efforts across our brand. Reporting to the Director of Social, this role will focus on optimizing and expanding one of the largest sports communities globally. The ideal candidate is a social & community expert with deep understanding and experience building out robust CM strategies, audience development, and community building and engagement programs. The primary goal of this role is to create and sustain meaningful communities within PrizePicks, enhancing member engagement and retention through strategic community-building efforts (70%), while also supporting real-time social media management during game time (30%). This role will manage a team ranging in levels.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Community Building: Lead the development, maintenance, and growth of PrizePicks' online communities, including Discord, forums, and other platforms, ensuring they align with the brand's voice and values. This includes creating PrizePicks-specific communities to enhance member engagement and retention.
  • Social Community Management: Collaborate with the Sr. Social Manager to develop a CM strategy and approach to engaging with members/brands/partners and how to facilitate those interactions across various social platforms. 
  • Strategic Expansion: Develop strategies for expanding community presence across various platforms while ensuring consistency in community management practices.
  • Brand Voice: Extend and use PrizePicks’ brand voice to create meaningful CM and community engagement.
  • Game-Time Social Management: Support and equip the social media team during game time to develop meaningful real-time discussions and engagements across platforms (Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat).
  • Community Support: Collaborate with our world-class customer support team to capture community feedback, provide real-time updates, and ensure our members across socials are in the know for important brand updates & initiatives. 
  • Surprise and Delight Initiatives: Implement surprise and delight initiatives to engage our members on social and turn negative experiences into positive ones.
  • What you have

 

What you'll have:

  • 5+ years of experience leading teams with a focus on community building and strategic marketing initiatives.
  • Proven track record of building and nurturing online communities.
  • Has a great sense of humor and a masterful understanding of narratives in the context of sports and entertainment. This individual understands how to create playful banter, drive engaging interactions, and equip a social team to do the same.
  • Strong understanding of sports categories, particularly NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB, and Esports.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt content to various platforms and engage diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in social media and community management tools (e.g., Sprout Social).

Where you’ll live:

  • Anywhere in the US is fine but Atlanta would be preferred.

Please note that the actual salary for this position may vary, as it is dependent on various factors including but not limited to experience, location, and market dynamics.
