The Role:

We are looking for a Sr. Front-End React Engineer who will be excited about playing an important role in designing and implementing the user interface of our web application from the ground up. This team member must bring deep expertise in complex or canvas based renderings and complex interactions (ex. interactive charts, map/geolocation/geofencing where users are able to flow seamlessly in and out of views). You will collaborate closely with a diverse team of executives, designers and developers to turn concepts into helpful, efficient, user-friendly interfaces. This role is perfect for a creative problem solver with a knack for clean, efficient code and a strong eye for design. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy tackling complex technical challenges, and have a strong desire to be an early contributor at a start-up tackling a big challenge, we invite you to join us on this journey.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand user requirements, then translating them into effective front-end solutions.
  • Design, develop, and implement web applications using modern frameworks in React, Next.js and other related front-end technologies.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize them for maximum performance and scalability.
  • Perform thorough testing and debugging of front-end applications to ensure optimal functionality, reliability, and security.
  • Constantly work to improve software performance and add functionality.
  • Implement best practices for front-end development, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.
  • Staying up to date with the latest advancements in frameworks and front-end web development technologies, and identifying opportunities to enhance existing applications or create new ones.

Experience we’re seeking:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field—or equivalent work experience with completion of Coding Bootcamp.
  • 8+ years proven experience as a Front-End Engineer, developing web applications using React (alternately, Solid, Svelt or Vue) and complex state management, with a strong understanding of their features and best practices.
  • Well versed in GraphQL or REST APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger.
  • Expert in Typescript an absolute must with additional expertise in fundamental front end languages such as HTML, CSS (specifically Tailwind CSS), JavaScript, Next.js and other modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries.
  • Deep expertise and experience building complex or canvas based renderings and complex interactions within a web application (Examples include interactive charts, map/geolocation/geofencing where users are able to flow seamlessly in and out of views).
  • Used to doing own unit-testing with personal ownership and pride in shipping high-quality, scalable and clean code.
  • Strong knowledge of web development best practices, including responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and performance optimization.
  • Comfort level at an early stage company where duties include writing tickets and documentation.
  • Has helped design and built a web-application or major feature from the ground up versus predominate maintenance of the front-end.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent collaboration, communication and teamwork skills.

Perks & Benefits:

  • Stock options: become a shareholder and participate in the value we create together
  • Unlimited PTO + holidays off for a good quality of life
  • Health benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision — 100% paid for employees
  • Giving back: opportunities to serve through our Community Service Program
