The Nielsen Product Sales practice advises the world’s largest and most influential advertisers, agencies, and media companies on how to make their businesses more successful.  We are a team of consultants and thought leaders who bring Nielsen’s industry leading measurement products to life, providing actionable insights to help clients make better business decisions.

The Product Sales Associate  will support our Ad Measurement business for TV media clients.  This role will support existing business renewals and expand sales of Nielsen’s audience measurement products. through direct client engagement, and working closely with account management and product teams to demonstrate and articulate Nielsen’s value. In this role, you will support Nielsen’s ads measurement solutions across TV and Digital measurement.

The ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated track record of delivering commercial success among large and sophisticated media clients.  This person will have a solid understanding of Nielsen Audience Measurement products and, importantly,  the media & advertising ecosystem, including cross-channel media planning and measurement.  Strong candidates will be highly analytical and show aptitude in consultative sales, client service, internal collaboration, and adapting within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Role is hybrid and candidates should be accustomed to working as such.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overall success, including commercial and strategic, for Nielsen’s ad measurement business among TV media sellers

  • Develop deep knowledge of your product suite, with an ability to confidently address client questions effectively and in a timely manner

  • Work closely with internal Nielsen partners, including Account Management, Product, Commercial Ops, and Product Marketing to ensure products are well-positioned to drive client satisfaction

  • Work on developing industry and client-specific sales strategies as necessary, working with Account Management and other Product Sales leads

  • Participate in sales process from prospecting to proposal development and closing contracts

  • Sales administration - maintenance of opportunity pipeline

  • Support team members in client discussions pertaining to your product suite

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of work experience, ideally within media & advertising, consulting, market research, or related domain.  Media seller experience is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s Degree.  MBA or other Masters Degree a plus 

  • Knowledge of Nielsen as a business and its products, services, and offerings

  • Understanding of the television/digital industry, including current state and future trends

  • Attention to detail, excellent problem solving skills, resourcefulness, and ability to meet deadlines and respond to internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner

  • Ability to operate in a fast paced environment, manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and work well with a diverse customer base and various internal teams

  • Motivated to drive sales and delight clients

  • Strong presentation and communication skills

  • Strong team player - this is a sales role that will adapt with the team over time

 

Additional Details

  • Role is hybrid and candidates should be accustomed to working as such

  • Preference for US east coast location (ideally New York metro) and working hours

  • Work from Nielsen offices in select locations

  • Requires limited client and internal travel (up to 15%)
