Its media app ‘theScore’ is one of the most popular in North America, delivering fans highly personalized live scores, news, stats, and betting information from their favorite teams, leagues, and players. theScore’s sports betting app ‘theScore Bet Sportsbook & Casino’ delivers an immersive and holistic mobile sports betting and iCasino experience. theScore Bet is currently live in the Company's home province of Ontario. theScore also creates and distributes innovative digital content through its web, social and esports platforms.

About the Role & Team

  • Work with a seasoned team managing a modern technology stack across AWS and GCP using Cloud Native solutions.
  • Be on the leading edge working with the latest technologies to solve problems for the team and teams we support.
  • Conduct POCs and make recommendations about the best way to approach complex problems and design/guide new technology creation.
  • Work closely with partner teams on SRE, CI/CD, AppSec, Dev, and security initiatives
  • Live within a highly advanced DevOps culture that focuses on improvements versus blame.

Typical Work Day at theScore:

  • Facilitate SRE team sprint ceremonies to: 
    • Stay up to date on what the team is working on
    • Identify blockers impacting the team
    • Refine and Plan work for upcoming sprints
  • Collaborate with team members (PMO, Technical Project Managers, Tech Leads, Individual Contributors, etc.) across the engineering organization to identify in-scope teams, dependencies, and technical requirements for project work
  • Facilitate ticket parties to break down projects and/or asks from technical stakeholders into manageable units of work in the team backlog
  • Collaborate with the SRE Team leadership to identify project dependencies, manage the backlog, and prioritize development tasks for future sprints
  • Track and provide updates on team operations, using tools like JIRA and Confluence.
  •  Coordinate release cycle of internal tools and manage cross team dependencies.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management in a technical environment.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to present work to executive staff.
  • Background in Computer Science, Business, IT, or related field.
  • Must be a self-starter, a team player, and driven.
  • Outstanding written/oral, organizational, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead conversations/clarify infrastructure requirements with stakeholders ranging from technical leads to individual contributors within the engineering organization
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information related to the infrastructure team to non-technical stakeholders
  • Familiar with DevOps and SRE best practices
  • Have a technical understanding of the various components of an application stack and how they are deployed into the cloud
  • Experience breaking down technical asks into deliverable chunks of work
  • Experience communicating across diverse cultures, work styles, and personalities.

Nice to haves:

  • Previous start-up, consumer mobile and/or consulting experience is a strong asset
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services or Google cloud platform
  • Previous software/platform engineering experience
  • Experience with observability tools like DataDog, Splunk, and Prometheus.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
