As our Sr. Director, Publishing and Esports Content Services you will integrate and lead our broadcast, creative, and event production organizations providing holistic leadership to our team and driving a consistent high quality fan experience across all Riot esports content. You will collaborate with Game Leadership Teams (GLTs) and Esports Product Leads to set the global strategic direction for content creation and be accountable for its successful delivery. You're eager to create content and events that thrill players and esports fans. You will be responsible for providing management, guidance, and mentorship to a diverse, international team and developing best practices and approaches to work as we launch and scale the biggest and most innovative sports products for our fans. This role reports to the Vice President, Publishing/Esports & Content Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Set and evolve the long-term content vision for Riot’s global esports ecosystem—guiding our Broadcast, Events, Production, and Content Operations teams to deliver compelling, culturally resonant experiences that align with Riot’s global strategy and regional needs while also championing alignment with product and game leadership to ensure experiences reflect the product vision.
  • Lead multi-year production and event planning frameworks that scale with Riot’s ambitions, establishing tiered offerings for esports and publishing that balance innovation, efficiency, and strategic investment in partnership with Finance.
  • Define and continuously refine best-in-class processes and strategies that amplify in-game outcomes and ensure Riot’s publishing and esports events drive sustained player engagement and narrative impact.
  • Leverage deep player insights, community data, and industry trends to shape long-term content approaches that build fandom and influence global esports content viewership strategy that celebrates culturally significant experiences across the Riot ecosystem.
  • Architect a unified, scalable events strategy that meets distinct esports and publishing goals while building shared services and operational models to maximize impact on the global player experience.
  • Establish long-term performance measurement frameworks for esports content efforts, ensuring teams develop data-informed instincts and iterate based on evolving player behavior and strategic insights.
  • Serve as a global craft leader across broadcast, events and production while fostering a thriving, high-performing Content Services organization invested in leadership development, long-term succession planning, and inclusive hiring practices.
  • Lead creative and technical resourcing strategies that drive innovation in live ceremonies, experiential design, visual identity, and motion across Riot’s most iconic global moments.
  • Scale and sustain a world-class Content Operations function, ensuring Riot’s media assets are securely managed, globally accessible, and positioned to support a rapidly expanding ecosystem of storytellers and creators.

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in broadcast, events production, and creative content production
  • 8+ years of experience managing complex, multi-function teams, and organizational administration; including experience in the management of distributed teams and multiple workforce classifications
  • Experience effectively managing large-scale resource planning and budget management
  • Proven ability to interpret and translate data into content strategy that supports global product vision
  • Outstanding relationship-building and communication skills and experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment
  • Advanced knowledge of the media landscape in gaming, sports, or esports.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field
  • Desired Qualifications:
  • MBA or other relevant advanced degrees
  • Knowledge of publishing and esports ecosystems

For this role, you'll find success through fearless creativity and creative risk taking, craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes the delight of players. We will be looking at your past studies, experience, and your personal relationship with games. If you embody player empathy and care about the experiences of players, this could be the role for you!
