The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.

Sr. Manager, Scheduling

The Venues and Infrastructure (VNI) team plays a critical role in delivering Games-specific temporary infrastructure for competition and non-competition venues to ensure that they are functional, innovative, and fully accessible for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. As part of the larger Sport and Games Delivery group, the VNI team ensures that all venues are designed, developed, and delivered with the highest standards for functionality, sustainability, and inclusion, while respecting the timeframes with the venues for the LA28 exclusive use periods. 

Reporting to the Director, Infrastructure Program Management, the Sr. Manager, Scheduling will lead the integrated project scheduling efforts for VNI. The Sr. Manager will prepare the schedule strategy and process, including the basis of schedule; the integration and validation of requirements for stakeholders, functional areas, suppliers and other third-parties; and the reporting and resolution of schedule issues to the VNI program. In addition, the Sr. Manager will take an integral role in the formation of the scheduling team that will lead the venue integrated schedules (VIS) development for LA28, relating to the operational delivery prior to the Games. This role will require deep collaboration across all delivery functional areas as well as external stakeholders, partners, and suppliers.

The successful candidate will have led, managed and/or created the master integrated schedule or similar for complex project delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Venue Scheduling Program

• Prepare the schedule strategy and maintain the basis of schedule for VNI and other teams supporting delivery.
• Create the resourcing plan to prepare and maintain venue integrated schedules (VIS), including hiring and contractor management
• Establish quality control and assurance of schedule products and activities
• Maintain clear information flows and responsibilities from the various schedules (LA28 milestone schedule, VNI program schedule, venue delivery schedules, venue integrated schedules) and communicate plans in one cohesive roadmap

 Venue Integration Schedule

• Lead a team of schedulers to prepare the VIS at each site
• Incorporate into the VIS the VNI construction schedule, delivery and activity schedules from other functional areas, and other stakeholder plans
• Surface schedule and resource conflicts, report issues, and facilitate resolution activities
• Prepare regular VIS status and health reports

Background & Qualifications:

• Minimum 7 years of experience at the master scheduler level
• Experience with infrastructure projects and/or sport and events delivery
• Expert knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, and familiarity with Smartsheet
• Expert knowledge of critical path, forward and backward scheduling, resourcing loading, dependencies, and crashing
• Adept at meetings facilitation, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Work in office at Los Angeles HQ with some travel to venue sites during planning
• Support and verify operational activity status based onsite during the LA28 exclusive use period

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• Scheduling certifications desired
• Project management desired

The annual base salary range for this position is $115,000.00 - $130,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
