  • Job Title: Sr. Product Marketing Manager
  • Job Summary: The Sr. Product Marketing Manager – Premier Events will work with the Manager, Product Marketing – Organized Play and Premier Events to develop marketing strategy and execute high profile marketing campaigns that elevate major Premier Events (such as the Pokémon World Championships) at The Pokémon Company International. This position works closely with cross-functional marketing and business partners to develop omni channel marketing plans that support Premier Events spotlighting fan engagement programming, competitive tournaments, and co-marketing partnerships while helping teams align on goals, tactics, and messaging to deliver engaging outbound marketing campaigns. This position will own and foster relationships with internal and external partners while facilitating streamlined communication to ensure alignment of marketing plans and flawless execution.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver impactful results through support of key strategic marketing initiatives for major Premier Events and related fan engagement programming, competitive tournaments, and co-marketing partnerships. 
  • Own GTM strategy for major Premier Events and related programming, competitions, activations, and partnerships. 
  • Coordinate with Premier Events team and champion their needs so that the TPCi cross-functional teams are fully informed to conduct aligned marketing activities to meet business goals. 
  • Work with Premier Events and cross-functional teams to develop pragmatic processes to support evolving marketing strategies and initiatives on a global scale. 
  • Lead communication and execution with both internal and external partners to ensure all stakeholders and organizations are properly informed and campaigns launch as planned. 
  • Lead development and review of creative materials, Premier Event asset management, and product reviews, including internal/external feedback loops and approvals.  
  • Lead maintenance of marketing calendars, ensuring milestones are up-to-date and communicated to key stakeholders in all partner offices and organizations.
  • Lead creation and maintenance of campaign performance reports, tracking against business and marketing key performance indicators (KPIs). 
  • Know your customers and market so intimately that you define and communicate a clear, differentiated, defensible, and monetizable market position. 

               

What you’ll bring

  • Six (6) to eight (8) years of relevant professional experience, including at least four (4) years in a product, brand, or event marketing (or a similar agency role).
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience marketing live events and coordinating with cross-functional teams and business partners through prioritization of internal and externally owned activations. 
  • Understanding of esports and strategies to create impactful results across live arena experiences and multiple digital livestream broadcasts supporting different business segments. 
  • Experience coordinating with external business partners to ensure strategic alignment in co-marketing partnerships that support a live event framework. 
  • Experience working with global brands, marketing consumer products, entertainment franchises or consumer events is preferred. 
  • Experience managing development of 360 marketing programs utilizing a paid-earned-owned framework. 
  • Experience leading cross-functional marketing teams to execute marketing campaigns, particularly social media and digital marketing teams. 
  • Experience working with agencies and external partners to execute marketing initiatives. 
  • Experience aligning strategies, managing approvals, and leading coordination through stakeholders, licensors, IP owners, and corporate partners, especially those in Japan. 
  • Understanding of Paid Media platforms and best practices is preferred. 
  • Familiarity with audience segmentation data and utilizing it to drive decisions and content direction. 
  • Demonstrated program management skills to support the creation and implementation of hype, launch, and sustainment marketing activities. 
  • Outstanding communication skills. The ability to work across teams and communicate marketing goals/results at a team, executive, and company level. 
  • Ability to adapt to changing deadlines, emerging needs, policy changes, and the variety of nuances that can happen in product development and live events. 
  • Proven problem solver, able to discern the crux of an issue, and use good judgment in recommending practical solutions. 
  • Organized and process-oriented with proven ability to manage multiple projects at once. 
  • While knowledge of the Pokémon brand is a plus, it is not required. However a willingness to learn more about the brand and develop a passion for Pokémon is a must. 

Base Salary Range: For this role, new hires generally start between $128,000 - $152,000 per year. The full range is $128,000 - $191,000 per year. This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. The final base salary is directly related to the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience uniquely.
