About the Role

We are looking for an independent, collaborative Shopify Engineer who can manage storefronts, from front-end changes to backend infrastructure, across multiple markets. You will be embedded as the Peloton Apparel team’s engineer, working closely with their e-commerce director to drive conversions, build analytics and reporting tools, and make technical design decisions regarding the store’s integration with the wider business.

Your work will involve building performant Liquid components and Shopify apps to be managed by your non-technical stakeholders, managing analytics tools to make data-driven decisions, supporting reporting needs of the wider business, serving as liaison between the team’s Shopify system and downstream and upstream infrastructure, and maintaining subject matter expertise over ecommerce developments to ensure Peloton maintains its competitive edge in the apparel marketplace.

YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON

  • Build and manage best-in-class Shopify storefronts that can be managed and updated by non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to ensure compliance with security, finance, accounting, and infrastructural needs
  • Integrate third party tools and partners into Shopify ecosystem
  • Work closely with ecommerce team to find ways to boost conversion rate and increase member satisfaction
  • Take initiative to lead or advise on all technical initiatives undertaken by Peloton Apparel
  • Report on work on a sprint-long cadence to the wider business

YOU BRING TO PELOTON

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Strong front-end experience, including JavaScript and CSS
  • Experience with Shopify development in Liquid, or similar templating languages
  • Experience with Shopify’s tooling for building integrated apps in JavaScript, Rust, etc.
  • Experience working on an ecommerce platform with large and complicated product catalogs
  • Solid understanding of git workflows in GitHub or similar git-based version control systems
  • Experience with GraphQL and comfortable in ingesting and processing data from APIs
  • Ability to collaborate closely alongside non-technical stakeholders from marketing, finance and other teams
  • Understanding of analytics software like Amplitude, Heatmap, Triple Whale, Clarity and their use-cases in ecommerce
  • Experience developing dashboards and sifting testing insights using tools like Datadog or similar observability tools
  • Ability to accomplish complex engineering tasks independently and capacity to work in a high growth, fast-paced environment
