Overview

We are seeking a Staff Computer Vision Engineer to join the Blitz team, where you will be instrumental in driving the growth of our computer vision product to better serve AI developers from cloud to edge. This role includes shaping the product roadmap, defining technical architecture, and leading execution. You will build a world-class computer vision system software team and collaborate with Blitz product teams such as FPS, MOBA, Strategy, and Platform to understand how accelerated computer vision can improve our products and scalable coaching solutions.

This position requires all hires to be onsite Monday - Thursday out of our Los Angeles (Playa Vista) office, with the option to WFH on Friday.

What You'll Do

  • Shape the product roadmap and define the technical architecture for real-time computer vision solutions.
  • Lead the execution of computer vision projects, ensuring delivery of quality software on schedule.
  • Build and manage a top-tier computer vision system software team.
  • Collaborate with various product teams to enhance gaming experiences through real-time computer vision.
  • Develop and productize computer vision algorithms and solutions for diverse markets.
  • Drive innovation in real-time object recognition in video, optimizing for low compute environments.
  • Ensure applications run and are trained to run concurrently with games, providing real-time analysis of frame buffer data.
  • Implement and improve accelerated computer vision techniques for gaming applications.
  • Mentor and develop engineers, fostering a deep understanding of computer vision and mathematical fundamentals.
  • Navigate software development lifecycle requirements and product release schedules effectively.

What It Takes

  • MS or equivalent experience in Computer Science, AI, Robotics, or a related area.
  • 8+ years of management experience and 15+ years of total engineering experience, including direct responsibility for production computer vision software libraries.
  • Proficiency in C, C++, CUDA, and Python.
  • Familiarity with Pythonic AI development frameworks such as Torch, TensorRT (TRT), JAX, or similar.
  • Experience with computer vision libraries such as OpenCV, Dlib, and scikit-image.
  • Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras.
  • Proficiency with GPU programming and performance optimization using tools such as NVIDIA Nsight, cuDNN, and cuBLAS.
  • Proven track record of developing and productizing computer vision algorithms and solutions for diverse markets.
  • Deep understanding of computer vision and mathematical fundamentals, including linear algebra and numerical methods.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills to navigate a highly matrixed environment.
  • Positive vision and passion for high-performance, clean, and powerful code. 

Nice To Have

  • Innovative leadership resulting in first-of-kind products, patents, process improvements, business efficiency, and publications.
  • Expertise in 3D computer vision, computational imaging, or vision transformers.
  • Startup experience, particularly in zero-to-one phases.
  • Proficiency with edge computing platforms like NVIDIA Jetson, Intel Movidius, or Google Coral.
  • Experience with real-time video processing and streaming technologies such as GStreamer or FFmpeg.
