About the role

We are hiring an exceptional Senior/Staff Front-End Software Engineer- Team Lead  to join Healthie’s Web Engineering team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our front-end platform. In this leadership position, you’ll architect scalable, high-performing, and accessible user interfaces that directly impact how healthcare providers and patients interact with digital health tools.

As a hands-on technical leader, you’ll guide the front-end team through the design, development, and optimization of Healthie’s web applications. You’ll work closely with engineering leadership to set technical direction, mentor engineers, and drive engineering excellence across the team. You’ll collaborate with product, design, and backend stakeholders to ensure alignment and delivery of cohesive, intuitive experiences using React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and modern web tooling.

This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives on both technical ownership and team leadership. You will help define our front-end architecture, champion modern best practices, and ensure Healthie’s front-end systems are scalable, maintainable, and performant for years to come.

• This is a full-time position located in either NYC or LA for a hybrid work schedule (2/3 days per week in the office)
• The base salary for this role is $160,000 - $190,000 per year with additional benefits and an annual company bonus.
• U.S. work authorization is required, Healthie does not provide sponsorship.

About you

• Experienced & Technical: You have 8+ years of recent experience shipping front-end applications in production environments and at least 2+ years as a Team lead, with deep expertise in React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and modern front-end architectures. You are proficient in building scalable, high-performance UIs and have experience optimizing front-end applications for usability, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Operational Excellence: You bring a strong understanding of front-end best practices, including component architecture, state management, performance optimization, and accessibility standards. You write clean, maintainable, and scalable code while advocating for modern development patterns and tools.
• Development & Testing: You have experience with front-end testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, and Playwright. You are skilled in writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure stability and prevent regressions in production applications.
• Leadership & Collaboration: You provide technical leadership in front-end development, guiding teams in best practices, performance improvements, and maintainability. You thrive in a collaborative environment, actively participating in code reviews, design discussions, and cross-functional planning while mentoring engineers.
