As a Staff Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Pinkbike. You’ll lead the maintenance and development of the Pinkbike website and all of its community features, working alongside talented engineers and cross-functional partners across Outside.

 

What you will do:

  • Own the full development lifecycle for Pinkbike.com
  • Partner closely with Editorial and Sales staff to deliver impactful initiatives for our advertising clients
  • Enhance Pinkbike’s community and marketplace features
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop a roadmap that aligns business goals, technical improvements and quality
  • Proactively monitor and resolve incidents, ensuring high availability
  • Document Pinkbike’s technical systems for future reference and knowledge sharing

 

This describes you:

  • 10+ years experience in software engineering
  • Strong proficiency with PHP
  • Familiarity with other parts of our stack: MySQL, Apache Solr, ElasticSearch, ZeroMQ (bonus points for experience with legacy systems)
  • Strong asynchronous communication skills in a fully remote environment
  • You can clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset to take initiative and work independently in situations of ambiguity
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving, coding, unit testing and debugging skills.
  • You author valuable commit messages and pull requests that are a source of learning for other engineers
  • You have designed and led major architectural changes on products shipped to millions of users 

Nice to have:

  • Passion for mountain biking and the Pinkbike community
  • Experience building tests around legacy systems
  • DevOps experience supporting highly trafficked websites

Entirely remote jobs that could be performed in Colorado: Employees can expect to be paid a salary of  between $180,000 to $225,000. Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, Flexible Time Away,  sick leave, and more.  This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors
