About the Opportunity

The OKX DEX-SWAP team is building the future of multi-chain trading — a one-stop aggregated platform where users can discover and trade any token across blockchains at the best liquidity and prices. Using intelligent routing algorithms, we minimize slippage, optimize fees, and accelerate execution. If you're passionate about cross-chain interoperability, smart routing, and decentralized liquidity, this is the team for you.

We're looking for a seasoned backend engineer to own our DEX Derivatives, Web3 Growth, and Innovative Product verticals — designing, building, and scaling core systems that power OKX's next-generation Web3 products, with a clear path to technical leadership.

What You’ll Be Doing

Contribute to backend development of blockchain-related services, including protocols, recommendation algorithms, and core ecosystem products.
Continuously optimize system architecture and performance to meet high standards of availability, reliability, and scalability.
Identify opportunities for infrastructure improvement, advancing engineering efficiency and system robustness.
Partner closely with product and business teams to translate requirements into well-designed, high-quality solutions.
Tackle complex technical challenges and share system design best practices to raise the team's overall engineering capability.

What We Look For In You

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent STEM background).
4+ years of experience designing and operating high-performance Java systems, with deep knowledge of the JVM, multithreading, concurrency, networking, and object-oriented design principles.
Proven experience in large-scale, distributed system architecture and development.
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on building robust, maintainable backend systems.
High standards for code quality with a continuous drive to improve performance and reliability.
Proficiency in English and Mandarin to collaborate effectively across global teams.
Understands AI capabilities and limitations and applies sound judgment on when and how to use AI effectively.

Nice to Haves

Familiarity with Python, Golang, TypeScript, Rust, or Graph technologies.Exposure to blockchain smart contracts or decentralized application (dApp) development.

Understanding of major blockchain platforms such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Hyperledger.
Hands-on experience with DeFi protocols such as Uniswap or AAVE.

Drives AI adoption across the team, coaching on AI literacy, championing responsible usage, and establishing standards for AI-assisted workflows.
