Here at Entain Australia and New Zealand, we have an opportunity for a Poker Operations Manager to support our continued poker growth across Victoria.

The Australian Poker League (APL) is Australia's leading organizer of poker tournaments and events, offering exceptional poker experiences to players of all skill levels.

As the VIC Poker Operations Manager, you will have the opportunity to extend APL’s lead in the market and strive for the continuous pursuit for growth. With your knowledge of the Victorian poker market, you will lead growth objectives and all operational matters within the state. With a strategic mindset and operational excellence, you will drive a continued and improved customer experience to maximise our player engagement with the APL brand.

Your day-to-day...

  • Implement strategies to support the continued increase in participation of players across Victorian APL poker events.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute poker tournaments across various venues in Victoria.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with venue partners, ensuring compliance with APL standards and agreements.
  • Foster a positive player experience through excellent customer service and operational excellence.
  • Lead, host, and manage the seamless event delivery of APL Poker events with support from a trained Tournament Director.
  • Support and implement appropriate training for Tournament Directors and ensure all events maintain highest possible standards.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and expansion of APL’s presence in Victoria.
  • Ensure all operations adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and licensing requirements.

 

What you'll bring... 

  • Demonstrated and previous experience in poker operations, event management, or similar roles within the gaming or hospitality industry.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Strong organizational and logistical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with players, venues, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and paid travel across Victoria as required.
  • Experience in the poker industry or familiarity with tournament structures and rules is preferred. 
  • Knowledge of Victorian gaming regulations and compliance requirements.
